Knowing when it is time to let her go

Thanks, so the truck has 80k miles. I had ruled it out due to this but the sales guy had said they were going to do lifetime power train. Engine, pcm, trans and rear end. Turbos included along with all seals and the valvetrain. Just need to follow ford maintenance intervals. I can do all...

Knowing when it is time to let her go

Actually, last night I did. I ran across a 2013 FX2 package F-150 with the 3.5 EcoBoost. Price and mileage was right in addition all vehicles from this dealership are sold with a lifetime powertrain warranty. It was that peace of mind that helps make the decision for me. I will miss the ram and...

Knowing when it is time to let her go

Drew. That is interesting. I kinda suspected that could possibly be the cause of it and I felt slack in there with truck in park. How did mechanic diagnose it? Which bearing was it? I don't have a whine. BTW, I'd that avalanche had the auto transfer case, it would be the same as I...

Knowing when it is time to let her go

It's hard to say. I feel some play in the driveline system and additional new vibration when I am going between full coast and throttle to maintain speed. Also when I cancel cruise and then let the truck go from 75 to 65 and when I re-engage throttle there is a significant shudder. I can baby...

Idle in gear is 35psi. 1850 rpn on interstate is 53psi. These are both at operating temperature. I did see pressures in the low-to-mid 60s before the engine was up to temperature. Typically my oil temperatures run about 210 to 215 after an interstate Cruise Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

BTW, I changed the oil this weekend. put 7.5 quarts of 5W20 PP in the truck and it is now showing a P1521 code on it. googling states this is incorrect oil weight but this is what i have used for nearly 4 years in this truck. not sure why it would throw this code.

Knowing when it is time to let her go

Explain? I owe $9k on a truck with 213k miles. If I pay my regular payment and drive my regular miles when done I'd have a paid for 260k mile truck. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Sorry to hear about your Dad there GSRAM. that is so rough and such an awful thing to witness. in talking to the boss lady, we are going to pursue looking a bit. I think that Overall with my responsibilities for work and family, the piece of mind of a lower mileage vehicle at a somewhat...

Knowing when it is time to let her go

Thanks again for the thoughts guys. Smiley, I had a paid off truck before I got my Ram. it was a 2004 Tundra that I drove to 285,000 miles. I loved that truck but with as much as I use it for business travel, I felt it was time for something newer and potentially more reliable. I really liked...

Knowing when it is time to let her go

Well spoke to my buddy who is the sales manager if local dealership. Will give me 12 for my ride. Don't shame me. I drove an Ecoboost. It drove well. And fuel mileage was incredible. I struggle for 15.5 regular average. This was getting 23! It had all I have except leather. And had...

Knowing when it is time to let her go

thanks for the opinions. I travel 45 miles one way to work daily with this vehicle if that adds to the equation. I am starting to feel some different vibratins and what feels like extra play in the drive line but cannot pinpoint it. could all just be looseness from the age. sounds like I...

Knowing when it is time to let her go

213,000 Miles. yes. payoff is about what she is worth. It's a tough call and while I want to drive her until the wheels fall off, I fear a major trans failure.

Knowing when it is time to let her go

Im at a cross roads folks. need a little non partisan advice. I love my Ram. I like the way it drives. I like the power. I like the looks. I like the features. However, she has some miles on her. at 213k, I feel the engine is in really good shape. NO leaks, no drips, PP used every 7,000...

    Replacing front struts

These stupid @$-_+@)&!# bottom bolts. They are completely rusted and seized inside the sleeves thru the bushings. Dealership does not sell the bushing to the general public! What a pain in the rear. Just wanted to vent. Looks like I'll need to air chisel them out. Any advice? Sent...

How does AUTO 4WD work/what does it do?

**** NOTE. this does not apply to select 2009 model 1500's that have the NVG-246 transfer case with the Auto function. when in Auto, it will only engage the front prop shaft when wheel slip is sensed. BUT in LOCK, it does not use clutches and is indeed locked.
