I never turn MDS off on my 2500. My 5500 dropped a lifter at 63k and the only time MDS kicks in is when the pto is running. So from my experience the MDS has nothing to do with longevity....
All I can say is WOW! It feels like I’m driving a heavy half. Bone jarring potholes are a thing of the past. I haven’t ridden in the backseat yet, (which was horrendous before the swap) but I’m sure it will be much better now as well. The shocks are well worth the $$$$. Install was around 3 hrs.
I had a small evap leak that turned into a large evap leak. I was finally able to chase it down to a shelled evap pump in the charcoal canister. Several hours diagnosing, 5 minute fix.....
Shifting and throttle response is amazing. My custom 87 tune utilizes mds in all gears. Fuel mileage may be up a tad, quit checking it regularly some time ago and my memory sucks....
I had the same issue. I changed the purge valve, checked all the lines to no avail. I finally swapped out the vacuum pump in the canister and boom problem solved. 3 minute fix tops.
