A good All Purpose Cleaner and a Steamer should lift the nicotine off the hard surfaces. I doubt you can beat an ozone machine for the soft surfaces, they're detailer's magic.
I am going to talk to the dealer when it goes in next about this. I get in/out of my truck all day long to open/close gates and holy hell is it annoying.
Blasting the darned horn 3x right as I walk by the front of the truck.
I just got my new work truck '22 2500 and it also has partial rear liners.
I don't know why and I absolutely hate it.
Seeing the white bed in the wheel well looks so damned cheap.
How is the rough country holding up? Does it clean up decent?
You will only need longer shocks on the front as you won't be changing the ride height on the back of the truck.
However, it is likely a good time to put new shocks on the back unless you've recently replaced them.
Make sure you get an alignment after your spacer install and be prepared for a...
Very common issue with trucks it seems. Get a new gasket for your 3rd brake light.
It is VERY common that's the fail point.
There is a company on Amazon that sells a beefier unit than the factory thin gasket. I ordered one for my old man a while back, looks like my work truck needs one too.
Load Range E tires will absolutely help with the squirly feeling when towing.
They also will absolutely help you feel a whole lot more of the imperfections in the road.
I think an XL rated tire might be a happy mid-ground for the occasional tow vehicle.
Grab your steering shaft between the slider and the rack, give it a wiggle.
I've been chasing a clunk for ages, I randomly grabbed that sucker the other day and wowza was mine loose.
Entirely worth it. I got my company truck with 120k on it, one of the first things I did was new plugs and WOW. I'm about to hit 200k here soon, and I'll replace them soon.
Personally? I would just do the job myself.
My only concern after running a 4" exhaust on a gas motor is drone.
I think it might heavily amplify the MDS drone having a nice long 4" echo chamber.
Otherwise, it's a great modification. I've run Cummins 4" tailpipes on a few different Rams.
I put on a nice new set of Powerstop Extreme pads and rotors up front.
After completing the job (Pads where THIN) I still had a slight grinding noise.
Pulled a back tire... yea, rear Powerstop setup arrives Friday. Haha.
There should be very little 'play' unless you're a hell of a strong man!
There is a known issue with the axle retention clip being improperly sized / seated and it causing some grief.
Check out Boosted Motorsports YouTube channel, he has a quick video about it.
If they were using traditional rubber mounts that had a really high amount of noise and vibration transmission, it wouldn't be an issue.
But that's part of engineering the 'truck' out of the truck. They use fluid filled viscous yada yada blah blah blah and the result is capable work truck that...
I cannot say enough good things about Michelin ATX LT2 for everything but driving through mesquite bushes.
They're a great tire, good traction in wack weather and quiet and smooth.
