    The harder you work it the more you will use. It really doesn't have much to do with mileage.

    That's close to what I get. I've been doing 600 mile round trips every weekend since last August driving 75-85 mph and average 21 to 21.5 each way (crew cab). Larger tires will definitely have an effect on your MPGs.

    Ground your bed to your frame on both sides. I haven't crawled under my truck but I do not believe the bed is properly grounded. I know the cab is....or get yourself a Wilson 1000 mag mount antenna and stick it on the roof to hear the difference (make sure you tune it first).

    It's probably a combination of where you mounted your antenna, your antenna ground, and antenna tuning.

    OP are you running LED lights or HIDs? Because that will cause a lot of feedback.

    Could be your ground, could be your coax, could be your connectors. If your antenna was damaged you should be able to tell by comparing your VSWRs (before and after you experienced it).

    Cobra 29 would work just fine. You can still mount a firestick back there, but there will be trade off in performance. The higher you can get the antenna the better.

    You could do that but you will get much better performance with the antenna on the roof. If you don't mount on the roof...the rule of thumb is to have 2/3 of the antenna above your roofline.

    For what you want to do, a good basic radio like the Cobra 25 and a Wilson 1000 mag mount antenna (see my first post in this thread) will be just fine. No amp needed. You will still need to tune the antenna (as you would on any new setup).

    To turn on the backup camera while driving forward? You are going to have to show me this because my 2014 8.4an does not have this. Now if you are talking about the bed camera located in the third brake light, yes you can do that.
