There is different gear options for the G56 ... I want the 6.29 first gear and the 6.29 reverse gear which the thinking with the 4.10 gears and 35" tires is going to work just fine but that will be a future topic to address- BlackGold6.4

Don't tow very much but sometimes we do, mostly working in the bush getting wood, clearing trails, recovering vehicles off winter roads, carrying heavy loads.. then there's hunting, fishing, hiking and the list goes on. That's awesome advice @Wild one , good thing to know about the oil pumps. Sounds right about getting on the phone as I do have all that information you mentioned, just not financial ready to make that call yet. So studying and reading what others do is it. No, the G56 is a G56 but bell housing and input shafts are different, also the parts between the engine block and tranny are different to a Cummins too. I got the parts list from Ram chassis cabs were the G56 was offered behind a 6.4... but that 6.4 in the chassis cab is not a MDS engine so the...- BlackGold6.4

Anyone ever install in floor rear storage?
I don't think you would have the room to open the lid with the seat down and the front seat set back. On the passenger side the exhaust might be in the way. Wish I could measure it for you but my truck is not with me at this moment.- BlackGold6.4

New truck prices are insane
The whole reason I'm doing work to my 2014 Ram 2500 is because there is no way I can afford a new truck. To replace my truck as is, about $63,000 that's no taxes or dealer mark-ups. I'm retired and there's no way I'm having payments, so doing work to my truck it is. More satisfying anyways- BlackGold6.4
