I installed a Noco Plug years ago - lower plastic piece below bumper.
I normally plug her in when temps get below 10*F or cooler @ work.
She normally is kept in a warm garage when not at work.
During the winter months when parked in the garage - the batteries are connected (quick disconnects)...
I don't tow much during the winter months - but I normally limit my short trips - I always drive until my coolant & engine oil temps are up to at least 190*F for 15-20min.
(to hopefully evaporate as much moisture out of the oil as possible)
I have since the first OCI - Change Oil & Filter every...
Air Filters - Wix or Fleetguard from Amazon
Fuel Filters
I chose to install this kit 2 weeks ago --> http://www.dieselfuelfilterkits.com/13_present_cummins_fuel_filter_kit.html
I did not use the CAT filter - due to the Aluminum top plate and the filter Base is all aluminum - This will cause...
Just Throwing this new option out there! Possibly a good choice for those who don't tow Med/Heavy 24/7...
Low ASH or Basically Very Low Levels of ZDDP... Basically more time between Regens and Longer DPF life - (Possibly) But the Owner still has to drive like a civilized human being as well...
Boats & Hoes! Boats & Hoes! What's goin on Everybody? :boobs:
Hope everyone is staying Germ Free! What a friggin Fiasco this has turned into!
Nothing like having to deal with Democrats & Media & Grocery store Hoarders!
Working tonight and things have slowed down & had time to drop...
I don't own one - so what does that statement have to do with (at one time Mobil producing a 0W-20 oil specifically for Toyota)?
Just Curious ---- You quoted me!
Yup show me - any data or advertising stating 16W oils provide less engine wear compared to a 30Wt or 40Wt. You won't! Only talk of...
Chris: I think if I remember correctly @ one time.
Mobil made that 0W-20 just for Toyota and their specific specs.
I also remember it have a decent amount of Moly within the formulation -- Very High Quality Oil.
Just read an article - That actually put emphasis on if your truck was going to be out in the elements for more then 15-24 hrs or more before your next start up - it's best to plug your truck in just after you park it - while the coolant & oil are still @ operating temp.
Makes sense but - would...
3 hr road trip to see daughter!
This shows how effective the ATS Delete Thermal by-pass ATF block is.
Unloaded - 34-37*F ambient temp - Feels Like temp was showing 27*F
Average temp home was 109-111*F
Tim: I only hope you were attempting to make a Joke?
RL oils carry some of the most Robust/Stoutest formulations you will find!
Not one of the RL Viscosity oils Need a cheap over the counter oil additive added.
Their base oils are second to none as well.
The 5.7L has a engine design flaw (weak...
A bit off topic possibly but you guys only ones I really care about in this forum so I’ll share this with you guys. I
found another option for a transmission pan.
https://goerend.com/goerend-dodge-68rfe-transmission-pan-kit-2007-5-newer/
actually I can’t wait to see maybe the next year Gale...
Thus the main reason I chose to run Triax Lubricants - This company has not fallen to be a ***** of the API.
I'm no follower - For my new 6.7L - I want the highest quality formulation I could find for under $30 a gallon.
https://www.triaxlubricants.com/
I went ahead & deleted my Thoughts & Opinions due to certain family members have told me I need to think of other younger members whom have sensitive feelings & these thoughts & opinions even though backed up with actual results might offend others.
Truth is I don't give 4 $hits - but I'm...
Perfect time to beef up & add a block heater cord - along with a Noco plug in adapter in the front bumper.
Temps today were 65*F.
Also purchased a high quality timer - which will detect temps below freezing @ close the circuit & begin the warming process! Also can be programmed to come...
NM stays decently warm year round - I personally would install the by-pass thermal delete block - then observe temps while towing!
If your still not comfortable with the cooler temps - then look into upgrading coolers or adding another in-line cooler.
Watch your temps close @ time of start up!
Honesty I say 2 hrs is a minimum.
Adding a timer will save some $$$ on electricity - but it still ALL Depends on ambient temp & Wind Chill factor & time out in these elements!
Below 15°F I'm believing 4 hrs is the min.
I have no clue how much...
Just finished up my winter oil change & also since the oil filter was off - I had room to connect the engine block heater cord to block heater element.
The 15W-40 is 100% Synthetic - Loaded with Boron/Moly!
Also added a Noco GCP1 AC port plug to the front bumper for easy quick plug in access.
My opinion: FIRST if your NEW Ram sits out in that cold 24/7? - I would run a 5W-40 viscosity oil.
As for what temp to actually plug it in?
My 2017 sits in a warm garage (40-50°F) while at home during the winter.
I say to the anal owner like myself - if you have plans on keeping your New Ram...
HSS Diesel Extreme - I feel (after doing a few months of research) has a very strong detergent package!
Give it a look - as well as Schaeffers Carbon Treat but it's almost impossible to find a local jobber!
Boy how time flies and thinking changes!
Due to availability - I am now using and plan to stay with these 2 products!
6oz Schaeffers SoyShield (Every Fill up) & 16oz HSS Diesel Extreme every 3 months!
Winter time - I add 2oz per 15gal Schaeffers ArcticShield - Bought (6) 16oz bottles off of...
Soki: Here is the small funnel I bought & use for additives.
It’s a small funnel but the neck is plenty long enough to go through & past the check ball at least 2 in.
I actually have a small (Tupperware tote) that I keep it in as well as the smaller additive funnel for the wifes Ford ST...
