    Thanks for the quick replies. Still not happy Ram is still on a 6 speed while GM and Ford are using 10 speeds. But I do love the Cummins. Don’t like ford so may look at GM when the time comes to start shopping. Presume the Allison 10 speed really jacks up the price.

    Love the 8 speed transmission. Had a 3/4 ton with same engine but a 6 speed transmission. Big difference. Will see in a couple weeks how it handles pulling my 5th wheel through the pass between Cheyenne and Laramie. My 6 speed struggled. Hoping the 8 speed makes a big difference.

    Isn’t there some kind of stamping on the tank to identify the size? My 2021 3500 has a 50 gal tank. After reading this forum, I’ll be crawling underneath to verify. Also, have always been told to never run a vehicle dry that has fuel injectors as it could burn them up.

    I had a 2014 Ram 1500 with the 8 speed. Good fuel mileage. Pulled a 7500 rv behind it. Pulled it fine. The 7th and 8th gear are overdrive gears. When I used the towhaul mode, it never went above the 6th gear. Still pulled fine though. Highest fuel mileage I got on a good day was 21 mpg. Not bad...

    You will find out the hard way when you have to lock it up to avoid a accident. That trailer is to heavy for a 1 ton. Don’t care for what’s it’s rated for. Engine may pull it but that’s not everything to consider.
