Thats an interesting trick with the front shocks but makes sense. Don't know if I'll have a chance to get that done for tonight's 1/8th but should be able to for Saturday and the 1/4. The fact that my truck has 114k miles on the original suspension definitely helps since theres no way its as...
If all goes as planned I'll have some 1/8th mile testing and numbers done tomorrow night. Using it for some testing and tuning and then Saturday will be 1/4 mile where we are hoping to break into the 11s with this pig.
Finally got around to removing the fully optioned passenger seat and weighing it. Wasn't as heavy as expected weighing in around 60lb.
Check out the full vid for the process and exact weight!
I love this mod. Bunch of us have experienced quality issues with such an expensive piece but the end result is damn cool! Here is the full install with homelink programming and another video of the sound :)
The one bulletin posted on here though did point to at least 1 mechanical difference between the MD and HD engines which is what led me to digging deeper into this whole thing. I'm just wondering if there is any camshaft or other mechanical difference to be found in addition to PCM tuning.
The...
Ah okay yeah me and Jason went to the 1/8th together actually so I got most of my info from him on the situation! I still wonder how the angles look stock or if that has anything to do with it. Here I am thinking this huge long 2 piece driveshaft on my truck looked vulnerable and the single...
More info!
Finally found a bit more info though check out page 9 on this RAM Pocket Guide document. Shows 2500/3500 does utilize the 410hp version but 3500 and chassis cab utilize the 370hp and 4500/5500 utilize the 366hp version.

Since I'm sure you've researched and looked into this more than me is there any theories as to what is causing the issue? Is it an axle/pinion angle issue that can be corrected? Do regular cab long beds suffer the same issue too? Is it on RCSB equipped with 8 speeds?
lmao yeah I do agree the silver is very plain and boring! I would maybe like to wrap it or do something down the road but I do want to get a fun road course car as its one of my favorite things to do but this older Viper is too expensive to operate and not well equipped for frequent outings.
All great points everyone! I did however stumble into some info on RSCB and driveshaft issues that I wasn't aware of that could shape the decision. Apparently the stock driveshafts are prone to failure by design. After upgrading the driveshaft to something more stout like a DSS one the...
Yeah there is more to it than that though and the "medium duty" engine is assigned to most of 2500 "Heavy Duty" badged trucks if that isn't confusing enough.
So I did more digging on the subject and went to a dealer, asked a bunch of questions and had them dig into their computers but there...
Ok so I did more digging on the subject and went to a dealer, asked a bunch of questions and had them dig into their computers but there still isn't clear info on these.
Mega Cab 2500 models apparently only get the lower hp.
ESA sales code is the "Medium Duty" engine
ESB sales code is the...
How do I know if a 6.4L is the 410hp or a 367hp? I searched everywhere and get mixed answers. Called two dealers and got 2 different answers. Its out of a 2015 2500 Crew Cab SLT VIN 3C6UR5JJ5FG544677
Ok did more research on this for everyone and you have to be VERY careful to make sure you get the HD and not MD because the RAM website is even misleading. Decoding the vehicle VIN on RAM build sheet will say "6.4L Heavy Duty" when it is in fact a "Medium Duty" engine.
Going off that sheet...
