Can't believe a year went by & no posts. Well its not like I myself come here often but. Still running my 03, 4.7 quad cab. Just turned 380 k. But I did put a reman in it in 2016. But today I tried to pinpoint where & what's making a ticking sound. I thought lifters, & a mechanic friend said...
Well today I had to pull over & call for a tow truck. Yesterday I changed my oil like I've done since 05. Was -6° this morning when I drove to work. All good. Go to leave, driving along & oil gauge started to drop to nothing. Check gauges light on. Gauge came back up, & I thought oh it's the...
That sounds like a blast lol. Good times. Lots of space to I bet. I watch a YouTube channel "Millennial Farmer" out of Minnesota & man, those fields are insane

Did you ever figure this out. I've got an 03 1500 with a 4.7 and it is hard to start every time it gets cold. Like 30°.

Every winter for the past few winters when it was really cold, truck wouldn't or hated to start. Sometimes I'd have to floor it to get it going. Then it would run rough, stall etc. I'd have to drive with 2 feet feathering the gas to keep it from stalling. Then it would run fine for a few weeks...
I don't use high beams that often but when I do I hold the stalk. I've always hated that the fog lights go out. Not sure what Britebox is but I'll be looking into it.

Can anyone tell me, where I can find some decent bed tie downs. I have 03 ram with the ones that look like dock cleats. I've looked online : the sites always come up with the ones that go in the square holes on the top rails of the bed. Thanks

Wow, no kidding. I will have to check this out. I've been wanting to do something with my wheels for a long time. Thanks again

Did you change throttle position sensor as well? My truck has done this to, but in winter when very cold. Won't start. I floor it, pump it, it'll fire. Then runs like shit, even when warmed up. I'll have to drive with 2 feet to keep tapping gas pedal if I have to come to a stop.

Has anyone bought the front bumper facia & have it fit properly? I got hit in front while parked, bought replacement parts off Amazon & all worked out fine except for the facia. Lazy a$$ me let parts sit in garage for 8 months before installing them, so it's to late to return it. So I'm...
Truck shut right down while driving. Low speed, & had just took a left from a light. So I whipped it into a parking lot. Did the (turn key 3 times) thing to get the code. Was P 0068. TPS or MAP sensor. I was able to start truck & limp it home. As long as I didn't give it much gas I was ok. To...
So on 12/24/19 on way home from work one of my ignition coils went. Cylinder # 8 misfire. I replaced coil pack & good to go. Today on way home from work, truck started running like a dog so I stopped & grabbed another coil pack. By the time I got home the engine light came on. To my surprise it...
So I ordered off of rock auto the heater hose that comes off of the firewall. It's a hose assembly, tee type. Well one of the hoses was tiny, like 1/2 inch inside diameter. The stock tee assembly on truck is all 5/8 inch hose. But of course they want big money cause it's molded to the tee &...
Yesterday I changed the oil & filter. On the way to work truck started running like crap. Bucking & chugging. I knew what it was long before engine light came on. So I stopped at an O'Reilly's on the way to work to grab a coil pack. Sure enough when I started truck to continue to work the engine...
I came across this in another forum. Course it says nothing about thread size/pitch but maybe you could get a few different & return others.

Took truck to get "hot new oil Undercoating" as they call it. Just in time before New England winter weather. I should do every year, but honestly, didn't do it last year, just didn't have the extra cash for that. Anyways, don't have pics cause pretty self explanatory.

Got 4 tires mounted & put on today. Also cranked spare tire down & had my buddy take off the 16 year old spare & mount on the best out of the 4 old tires. I definitely went with 265/70R17's. So the spare that was on it was a 275/70R17, so now at least the spare is a matching size.
I tell ya...
Just got 4 new tires delivered. General Grabber atx. Also last week I put on 2 rotors (front) & an outer tie rod end.
Question posed to everyone, white letters mounted in or out?

Ahhh very cool. 21 years various positions? Mechanic? I'm going to say the truck came with the 275/70/17 because that's what the original spare tire is still to this day mounted under the truck, spare. Stupid me should have used that tire years ago & just bought 3 matching. But at 17 years old...
