Rear Springs for Lift and Tow

I have the Eibach kit front and rear. The front is raised 2 inches and with the Eibach springs the rear still sits 1.5 inches or so higher, I also have a fiberglass cap. With my 285/70/17s it pretty much looks factory since the height and tires both increased and there is still some rake. The...

diff fluid change on a 3.21

It looks like on the Redline website when entering my truck info it shows the 75W85 for hypoid limited slip differentials for my front axle. So I suppose I’ll go ahead and use what I have.

diff fluid change on a 3.21

This is would be for the front. I already put the 140 in the rear. I’m interested in opinions of putting the fluid with friction modifiers in the front with no limited slip.

diff fluid change on a 3.21

So I ordered gear oil for my truck but wound up ordering the 75W85 with friction modifier that I intended to use in the front differential. Would it be an issue to go ahead and use this or should I return and get the 75W90 NS fluid. It would save me about $10 if I exchanged.

    Paid for!

Prices have gotten crazy. I bought a new 2011 tradesman 4x4 with Cummins for $36k. I probably should have hung on to that one, new versions are now $55k+. I traded it in 2014 because I didn't have much need for the diesel anymore for my 2014 Outdoorsman 1500. I paid around $34k after rebates and...

    Oil Filter Thread

With RP filters and 5W-30 PUP I see 45-46psi hot idle and 60-61psi at 75 mph. This has been with the 10-48, 20-820, and 20-500. The 10-48 may have been 1 psi lower at idle and interstate from what I remember, but I only used that filter once. From posts I've seen on the forum my pressures seem...

    Oil Filter Thread

Thanks, I'll have to look around more when it's time to change again, which may be a while since I just changed the oil about a month ago and I generally put around 5k or less miles a year on my truck. I bought PUP 5W-30 from Walmart once but Amazon has usually been cheaper when I'm looking to...

    Oil Filter Thread

Is the 20-820 available anywhere? My 2014 1500 Outdoorsman fits the 20-500 fine and I've used it twice now, maybe 3 times I don't remember. I'll probably stay with the 20-500 since that is what our 2019 Expedition takes as well, unless the 20-820 become readily available again or someone on...

Anyone running 285/70 on OEM 17" rims?

I've been on 285/70/17 E-rated KOs for 3 or 4 years and 25k miles. They handle great. I run around 40-42 psi. The tire doesn't give any appearance that they are too wide for the rim. Next go around I'll step up to 285/75s, or if I can find a good deal on Rebel rims I may get them and step up to...

    Oil pressure question

I’ve got 70k now, it’s had the start up tick for a while but started getting loud and more prolonged maybe 3-4k ago. It’s quiet within 20 seconds after start up though. In the beginning, maybe around 30k, it would tick only if it had set for a week or more, now it’s pretty much any time it’s set...

    Oil pressure question

^Agree, I have a 2014 and it notes 5W30. Oil pressure wise I run PUP 5W-30 with royal purple filter, warm idle is around 45/46psi and with the cruise set at 75/80 this see 60/61 psi. It’s smooth and quiet. I do need to pull the passenger side manifold though to machine flat and replace bolts...

What tires are you looking at that are $250 and $140?

    285/70r17 and leveled pics?

I like 315s and most of the time I want them, but I'm not a fan of the majority of aftermarket wheels and I don't want to actually pay for aftermarket wheels. My factory wheels are too narrow for 315s but I keep an eye out for Rebel wheels to find a deal I can't pass up. I actually found a nice...

    285/70r17 and leveled pics?

For the BFG All Terrain the price difference is $38/tire between the two sizes (E rated) on Discount Tire. You may see an extreme price difference if you are looking at a cheaper tire that doesn't have a 285/75 option or if they make a big jump in price moving up in size. I like BFG All Terrains...

    285/70r17 and leveled pics?

Here's my 2014 with the Eibach Pro kit and 285/70/17s. I had these tires on with stock Outdoorsman suspension for over 2 years. I want to go with 285/75/17s next.

    Oil Filter Thread

A few months ago when I couldn't order a 20-820 I got on here and found some mention of the 20-500 and confirmed that a few folks were running it at the time. It also happens to be the same filter for our 2019 Expedition. I did get the filter to fit but it was more difficult than the 10-48 and...

Oil Pressure Increase After Filter Change

What is the consensus of a good oil pressure, low/high/average? I run PUP 5w30 and usually a 20-820 but have a 20-500 at the moment. At cruising speed I see 60-61psi, warm idle is 44psi in gear and 46psi in neutral. Before getting up to temp my pressure will reach into the mid 70s, but I try...

    Oil Filter Thread

So, have I read it correctly that the RP 20-500 will fit a 2014 1500 Hemi? I usually use the 20-820 but Amazon is out of them, I'd rather run the 20-500 than the 10-48 if it fits plus it's cheaper and I'm already ordering the same filter for the 2019 Expedition.

Unhappy with 1500 towing. Need Help

There’s more to it than rpms, there is a mechanical advantage when turning the smaller pinion gear of the 3.92 vs 3.21. Sure, power output at any given rpm is equal but the mechanical advantage of the smaller pinion gear can reduce the need for down shifting and even allow the engine to run more...

Eibach Pro-Truck Lift Rear Ride Quality

In the front I went from roughly 36 5/8 and 36 7/8 to 38 1/2 and 38 5/8, so less than 2 inches. The rear went from 38 9/16 and 38 15/16 to 39 1/2 on both sides, so just under an inch. I have the Outdoorsman so mine may have been a little higher than yours to start with and I also have the...
