This is a request to the admins: Can we add a group for the 1972-1980 generation of trucks? The Tin Grilles, this can only help grow this site. Thanks for considering!
I just bought a 1979 W150 and it has been sitting for approximately 12 years. Needless to say the gas tank needs to be drained. It is almost full. I can not for the life of me get a siphon hose into the tank. I started out with a garden hose and have worked my way down to 1/4" hose with no luck...
Picked this one up yesterday for $1000! 1979 W150 Power Wagon. 360 ci, 727 auto. Needs a lot of work, as you would expect from a $1k truck, but it's solid and rust free. Let the wrenching begin!
I'm still trying to have 5.13s installed in my '17 PW. Using AAM part #40136007 for the front & #40030646 for the rear. Of you guys that have had this done, are there any extra or odd parts needed to install? Ring gear spacer in the front? Does the pinion bushing in the rear have to be replaced...
AEV High mark fender flairs, Thuren front bumper for those flairs, change out wheels for correct offset (-22mm I believe), and address moving axle forward 1" as well as possibly more lift.
I've got 37-13.5-17 STT Pros on mine with 14k on them with no complaints. Good wear and balanced just fine. I'll be sticking with Coopers for my next set as well, 40-13.5-17 though.
I have a 2017 Power Wagon on 37s and prepping for 40s. This is why the need for 5.13 ring & pinion. I've searched and found the AAM part #s here and my mechanic has searched online. We both have come up with these #s.
Front part #40136007
Rear part #40030646
AAM lists the front 5.13 for GM &...
After putting 37s on my '17 there was a noticeable performance loss, not drastic but it was there. Mileage took a hit in town but improved on the freeway. I added cat back exhaust and a Peddle Commander. The difference with those two alone I feel brought it back to where it was but the truck...
I've only got 3000 miles on this set with no signs of wear as expected. Not sure how many miles I'll get out of them but if I get 50k I'll be happy considering how I drive the truck.
Time to start waking up the Hemi. First step, Flowmaster 50 series HD on the way. Going to have it installed with a new single tailpipe that eliminates the resonator and exits the back corner at a 45 degree angle and cut flush with bottom of back bumper. Clean look with max clearance.
I have the standard AMP steps, not sure of part #. They are perfect for a stock Power Wagon. They put the step right in the middle of the ground and the floor board.
