Ive had one for 2 years. No issues.
Just get the thermostat probe that actually goes into the coolant. Flex-a-lite 32050 Temp Sensor. Other wise its a pain to get the fan turn on temp set exactly right.
Put on 2 3" 1,700 lumens led spot lights. I put them behind the grill to keep the front of the truck looking clean. So far i love them.

It is probably the wire as it goes from the door to the cab body. Inside the rubber sleeve the wire tends to brake the wire from opening and closing the door.. So you need to pull back the rubber sleeve and just color match the wires.
It runs at 95 C at highway. When i got the truck it ran at 92/93C. On acceleration it will cool off to 92C. Sitting idling it will go continuously hotter until i rev it up to 3500 rpm. Then it cools down right away. If i turn the cab air on hot it will cool off a bit.

Sounds like it is oil and temp related.... It might be a gunked up lash adjuster.... or a low oil supply getting to somewhere. Have you tried run SeaFoam through it?

I had a ticking but it was much more pronounced. My tick was a wrist pin machined of center .030" I had also replaced the lash adjusters and timing chains. And the heads. Maybe mine was just farther along then yours. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHIZID_Zpw0
