Trailer brake error message - bad ground on truck?

The Velcro has worked well to keep the make plug end in place. I do have to give big props for the arctic cord. It stayed very flexible in the cold temps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Trailer brake error message - bad ground on truck?

I just made an 800 mile trip with the truck and trailer. To ensure I didn’t have any issues with a pigtail loose connection, I zip tied the male end of the connection to the cover. No problems. I think that was my problem. The arctic cord cable doesn’t make a tight fit to my Ram seven pin...

Trailer brake error message - bad ground on truck?

So, I spent the money and took the Ram to the dealer. They ran it on the scanner with clear results. Checked for known issues and saw one related to fuses. All clear there. Checked the ground which is under the dash and it was good. So, the last resort would be to replace the trailer brake...

Trailer brake error message - bad ground on truck?

Actually was looking for the location of the ground strap on the truck. I cleaned the truck side contacts and wanted to be sure there wasn’t too much corrosion or any break where the harness grounds to the truck frame. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Trailer brake error message - bad ground on truck?

I had my enclosed trailer serviced yesterday. My dealer is very reputable and does great work. They replaced my four electric trailer brakes and a couple fender lights along with the pigtail cable. All worked well until 7 miles from home when the display gave me check trailer brakes and then...

    2017 32 gallon fuel tank

A lemon law complaint...really? Just posting how I feel about it. A person buys the larger tank (spends money for the option) for a reason, to drive further on a tank of fuel. Gauge not being able to accurately read the level is quite irritating. Thanks for sharing your positive, encouraging...

    2017 32 gallon fuel tank

I had this issue on my '11. Dealership actually replaced the tank under warranty. No change. I feel that is completely unreasonable to think the gauge cannot read full/empty correctly. My 2 cents.

Oil leak out of the box.

When I picked up the truck I asked for more detail and they said with the tranny out the leaking oil valley plug is in the back of the block and was what was leaking down onto the rear main area. So, it's above and to the side of the main seal below the head. I believe he said there were two...

Oil leak out of the box.

Good question, lol. Just the term the service manager used to describe the problem and repair. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oil leak out of the box.

They pulled the tranny again. Tracked it up to he oil valley plug. The fix was silicon. Hope that lasts. They don't think the rear main was ever the problem now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oil leak out of the box.

Hmmm, I'll ask them to put a straight edge on the casting around the bearing retainer. Who knows. Tired of parking over a tarp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oil leak out of the box.

Thanks. Taking it back tomorrow for another look. If they can't fix it, I'll push for a replacement engine. It is dripping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oil leak out of the box.

Bad news, the oil leak is back. I've maybe put 500 or more miles on it. I don't know what to think. Being under warranty is one thing. But the nuisance of a leak on my garage floor irritates the crap out of me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oil leak out of the box.

Sorry to hear that. I hope for better luck. I'll move it on down the road if mine comes back. I really do love it, the 8 speed is great with the 3.92 gears. Plenty of get up and go. But I was really disappointed with it when it dripped on my brand new tiled garage floor. Sent from my iPhone...

Oil leak out of the box.

Done. Checked it out under the truck and after a day is still dry. Happy. [emoji4]a big thanks to the crew at my dealership. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oil leak out of the box.

Dealer will be replacing the rear main today. It appears from what they said there is a retainer that is bolted in holding the rear main seal in that was leaking the oil. I didn't see it so I can't be sure I'm translating this properly. They told me they've seen a few of these, but that it isn't...

Oil leak out of the box.

Thanks for the info. Seems like a lot of oil up toward the manifold. I'm wondering if it's the oil valley plug like you mentioned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oil leak out of the box.

Taking my truck in on Monday morning for them to look it over. I am expecting a rear main seal. Time will tell, hoping for nothing serious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Aligning headlights on a 2013 Dodge Ram after leveling or lifting

I have the same question about where to measure from and how many turns it takes. I read a post about someone snapping the adjuster. The socket is a 7 mm. I was turning and didn't see any movement so I stopped and turned back to what seemed like the original location. Any other input to how many...

Oil leak out of the box.

I guess I'll have to wait and see what they come up with. Now that they added dye to the oil. I hope they can tell the difference between the trans fluid and engine oil. Is the trans leak from a main seal behind the torque converter? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have the 8 speed. Are they known to leak? I didn't see posts on that issue yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oil leak out of the box.

Perfect. That is the knowledge I was hoping to tap into by posting the question! Any idea what causes a rear main to leak? Not lubricated causing a tear? Could I have PCV issues that I should look for? Thanks tach tech! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Katzkin upgrade

Yes. It's a quality product. I have had zero issues. I love the options. My saddleback covers were custom ordered and the installer had them back in a week. I thought that was fast. They also do a very good job telling you what colors will match your factory interior. Sent from my iPhone...

    Katzkin upgrade

I can't say. I assume I could do it in a weekend. However, I don't have a steamer, etc to get it looking right. For the total cost, it was worth the $1200 for me to have a leather interior installed by professionals. I think it's cheap but looks so quality. I'm very impressed with Katzkin...
