    Strategies for truck longevity?

Maintenance should be based on how the truck is used. I recommend sticking with the manufactures maintenance schedules. If the truck will be used hard; towing, hauling, long periods with the engine idling, then perform the maintenance more frequently. Oil changes are a personal decision. I...

    ABS Module / speed sensor

All 4 wheel speed sensors connect directly to the ABS module. A quick test would be to swap the wires, at the module, front to rear. This is a bit tedious as it can be tough to get the wire ends out of the connector without damaging anything. However if after swapping the wires and the...

Low frequency hum at low speeds.

"ECO" mode includes more than just MDS. IT actually means the truck is operating in it's most economical condition. This also includes the grill shutters closing and the PWM (pulse width modulated) motors (fuel pump, aux engine cooling fan, etc.) running on low demand. Chances are the...

    Shaking on Acceleration

No traction control/ABS light? Almost sounds like a wheel speed sensor acting up. Is the truck lifted, have any obvious tire wear issues, or possibly a mismatched tire?

    2017 Laramie Seat Belt Alarm?

Press the start button, without stepping on the brake pedal, until the ignition is in the run position (usually two presses). Within 10 seconds, buckle and unbuckle the driver's seat belt 3 times. Still within the 10 seconds press the start button one time to turn the ignition off. This...

    Humming and Vibration

The MDS can cause a bit of vibration however only at cruise/light throttle application. MDS is not active under acceleration, and usually not active at speeds above about 60-65 MPH. Take a look under your truck, at the drive shaft. Is it a 1 piece or 2 piece drive shaft? What you describe...

Coolant / Brake / Power Steering Flush

Your truck likely has the 5 year coolant. If the radiator was replaced recently, there was probably enough fresh coolant added to safely extend your next flush to 5 years from this work. Brake fluid is a toss-up. Some people say every 2 years, all to way to some saying never flush it. My...

    what's the deal?

Do you have the auto door lock setting in Uconnect active? This the feature where you get driving over a specific speed or distance and the doors auto-lock. If enabled, does it work? Usually when the doors lock you can hear the relays clicking down in the driver's footwell area.

    Cabin air filter mod issues?

This was the first "mod" done to my truck, with not a single apparent issue. I'd be curious as to why there would be a "problem" with a cabin filter in the Ram trucks, verses the other chrysler products that come with a filter (as the Ram "mod" uses the same filter as a Dodge Journey). I seem...

    dammit man

Literally the day after I bought my new truck, I scratched the bed loading 20 storm windows. Now almost 2 years later the bed has many, many more scratches and several dents as well. It's a truck... I once had a coworker who owned a pickup. He never hauled anything in the bed, but a pair of...

    ABS Module / speed sensor

I think the term might be "implausible". Yes, when driving in a straight line the speed signal for all 4 wheels should be the same (that is if all 4 tires are the same size and properly inflated). I have seen ignition coils cause problems (RF interference) with both the ABS speed sensors...

Cost of Oil Change at Dealership

The 5.7 requires 7 quarts of oil. Does your dealer run any oil change specials, coupons (maybe a Google search), etc. Most often the specials only include 5 quarts, then you get up-charged for the remaining 2.

    Coolant for 2015 Ram 1500

Chrysler has three different coolants. What they call 3 Year, 5 Year and 10 Year. The 3 year stuff is the old green coolant that is recognizable to many people. The 5 year stuff is HOAT coolant and orange in color. The 10 year is OAT and has a purple-ish color. My understanding is never mix...

3.55 Ratio verus 3.21 Difference in Fuel Effic

I doubt you will see a significant mileage difference between the two ratios. If the best mileage is your goal, you should also be looking at keeping the truck's weight down as well. Regular cab, short bed, base trim level, etc.
