Slowest-selling vehicle in America is the Dodge Ram 2500 truck

There is certainly a lot more to it than what was reported. If tried to find a Dodge Challenger, the only reason they aren't selling is because most dealers have marked up since they're the last ones. That was what made me give up on new Ram 2500 or 3500. The gas ones were all at least $3,000...

    Oil Catch Can ?

I have one on my Challenger and had one on my Magnum. My experience shows they cut back on how much oil gets into the intake manifold. They don't completely eliminate the oil. I wish there was a way to put one on the 6.4 in my Ram.

Adding Bed Weight for Winter Driving

I always put 2 bags of rock salt back by the tailgate. I find it takes longer to need the 4WD this way. It also helps a little when I have the snow plow on.

    T79 recall question.

If they can't get the part, I would suggest taking the pin out and leave it hanging off the wires. This pin is what prevents you from taking the shifter out of park until you step on the brakes. If you take the pin out of the column and step on the brake pedal with the ignition on, you'll see it...

Do you use anti seize or impact drill on your lug nuts

I've never used anti-seize on lug nuts. I do use it on the hub when putting on aluminum wheels since that is where the corrosion occurs. I also hand tighten 2 lug nuts to make sure the wheel is properly centered before running them all up with an impact wrench in a cris-cross pattern. I've never...

    Tires need advice

My last set were the Cooper AT3s from before Goodyear bought them. Now I have the Falken AT3s (made in Thailand, not China). They're both good in the snow, but I think the Falkens are a little better when I'm plowing. I'd prefer to buy American but couldn't stomach an extra $300 for a set of 4.

What windshield washing fluid do you use?

I use the Prestone brand deicer. I used to use Rain X until I noticed it coating the inside of the reservoir and hoses orange. That looked like pending trouble. I've been using the Prestone over 10 years with no issue.

    Lifter Knock

My '14 2500 has the same issue with its 6.4. It lost a lifter on the way home from dealer replacing an exhaust manifold. Chrysler had them pull the oil pan, they found metal, and now I'm waiting for a new engine (1 month so far). Mine has 128,000 and has had 6,000 mi. oil changes with the...

Mopar Kicker Upgrade vs Other 6x9 & 3.5 Dash

I like Kicker speakers but I wouldn't waste the money on the Mopar set. I did that with my Challenger for the compatibility issues you mention. In my 2014 Ram, I went with Kicker speakers from Crutchfield. They include any adapters needed and were just as easy to install. The speakers were...

When is it OK to wax a new vehicle?

It's definitely ready for wax. Like others have said, I would clay bar or clean it first- like in the old days there is no reason to seal in the dirt!

Cooper Evolution M/T All Terrain Tire - 35X12.50R20 reviews?

I got a set of Evolution M/T a few thousand miles ago to replace a worn set of S/T Max. I got the M/T for a good price. While I have Cooper tires on all my vehicles I wouldn't have gotten these if the price wasn't right. I haven't had any issues with balancing and they have been good in mud (no...

    Catch Cans

Going back to the original post, in the old days fuel & air were mixed in the carb before the crankcase blow by oil. This gave you something to wash the oil out of the metal intake manifold. Today's injector's spray the fuel near the intake valve. This leaves nothing to clean the blow by oil out...

Worried about failed lifters? Read this.

Sorry if I'm late mentioning this. Did anybody notice the report was about Isky brand solid roller lifters? They obviously came out of some kind of performance engine, not one of our trucks. I don't think they even make replacement lifters for a Gen3 hemi.

    AlfaOBD

I recently bought the alphaobd software since I have several Dodges. I downloaded my bcm configuration from my Ram 2500 and saved it to Googledrive. I tried doing the same thing with my Dodge Magnum but the one from my Ram 2500 keeps coming up. How do I remove the Ram's configuration from...

    What exhaust for 6.4 hemi

I have the Magnaflow 19200 on mine. It fit my longbed fine and does move the resonator. However, after 2 1/2 years I wouldn't recommend it. Despite what they advertise, these don't look like stainless pipes.

    Help! Upgraded cluster.

Follow the procedure in the manual- turn key to "on", slowly fully depress and release the throttle 3 times within 10 seconds, then you should get a "confirm reset" message on the cluster. Move the highlight to "yes" and acknowledge. Turn the key off for a few seconds and then turn on to confirm...

    RA2 question

I just picked up used RA2 radio to replace my RA1. Everything seems to work fine except turning off the radio. On my RA1, when you pushed the volume button the radio stayed off until you pushed it again to turn it on. On this RA2, the radio turns itself back on every time you turn the key on...

How to reset "change oil" advisory

There's no way to change when it comes on. They say it's determined by how you drive but every one I've had just came on at the recommended interval- 6,000 or 8,000 miles, etc.

2017 3.0 radio have Sirius Tuner?

While I don't know if they've updated things, my '14 2500 came with the RA1 and no Sirius. There was no plug on it to connect a Sirius antenna. I had to get a used RA1 with Sirius along with the antenna & cable.

    2014 6.4?

I got mine in January '15 and have no real complaints. Everybody is correct in that this is the only year you can tune without changing the PCM, which is a big unexpected bonus to me. I was also able to get the tire pressure monitor adjusted, though from what I've read dealers aren't allowed to...

AT Tires for HD... bear with me

I have both the Cooper S/T Maxx & A/T3 for my current truck. The S/T Maxx is great both on road & in the mud, though I'm waiting to see about longevity. As I read elsewhere they were squirmy for the 1st 100 miles or so. The A/t3's are on my steel wheels for winter and are good on road & in the...

    65rfe 4th gen 6 speed auto xsmn .

My 6.4, 66RFE often has the RPM spike when coasting. Everything I've read says that's normal, as the truck will try to hold the current speed when you let off gas. What happens is when you let off the gas and the truck notices a speed increase, it will downshift to try to hold at the same speed.

    The 6.4 HD Hemi Thread

I went with the Magnaflow system and am very happy with it. I can't say it does anything for mileage but at least it sounds like a V8! It includes a small resonator, but it's up over the rear axle so you don't have that big ugly factory one hanging down. It also has a nice polished tip that...

    MDS Question

The 5.7 hemis in the 2500/3500 trucks don't have MDS, only the 6.4. While mine goes on/off a lot, every little bit helps. One of my co-workers has a 2012 2500 with the 5.7 and he gets around 12 mpg. I usually get 15-16 mpg when I'm not plowing or towing. I think my 6 speed with the 3.73 gears...
