About 4 years ago I had the recall “fix” on my 2014 2500 concerning the outboard steering linkage jam nut may loosen allowing one end of the drag links to separate. Their fix was to tac weld tye nut so it doesn’t loosen. Seems like a pretty bad fix if you ask me because now I need to get an...
The Ram 2500 rear diffs use an odd type of LSD that doesn't have clutches like a typical one so a friction modifier isn't needed. Some say it helped them that had similar issues i'm having so I added Amsoil slip lock. It didn't help, and actually made it a little worse. This was added after I...
I saw a lot of recommendations to change it and replace with Amsoil Severe Gear 75-90, so I went with that. I didn't notice any difference and still got the shudder or chatter under the same conditions. Next I added the Amsoil slip lock which is a friction modifier. Some said it helped, others...
No I haven’t. It’s still doing it, bit now I think it may be an issue with the rear diff. I’m still not ruling out tranny though. I think I’m going to change the rear diff fluid and see if that makes a difference.
It’s only got 46,*** miles and never pulled or hauled anything over 1000 lbs. All maintenance up to date and performed by the Dealership. It’s got the 6’ bed, so a 1 piece driveshaft and no support with a carrier bearing.
My 2014 2500 has had a weird “shudder” after taking off from a stop and going low speed when shifting between 1st/2nd and from 2nd into 3rd. Seems to primarily happen when turning left. When I leave my sons daycare they have a large half circle drive and I really notice when driving on it during...
I've got some diff fluid leaking around my drivers side rear wheel. Dealership said the Hub and axle seal need replaced. How can I determine if it's actually both or just one of them by looking at it without taking everything apart? I hate to pull the hub all the way off if it's just the axle...
Just an update. It seems to only do it after I’ve been driving at highway speeds, but still only hear it at low speeds. So if I’ve been on the highway then come into town I’ll hear it when stopping at or taking off from stop signs or if I’m going slow in a parking lot.
also, about a year ago...
I’ve got some sort of low pitched howl or whine. It’s intermittent which makes me think it’s driveline related and I only notice it at lower speeds. It is very sporadic and doesn’t happen all the time. I’ve attached a video so you can hear it.

I went to start my truck this morning and it started to crank, then stopped and just clicked. A few odd things came up on the dash like saying something about towing. Checked the battery and it was around 11.9 volts. I got my audew jump pack (it’s a heavy duty one) and tried to jump it. It...
The shift solenoid was bad. The code was P0750 and means bad shift solenoid “A”. It was my understanding that solenoid A is what tells the trans to shift to and from 1st and 2nd. That may be completely wrong though. Either way, the Stealership did all the work. I had them replace the filters...
I have a 2014 Ram 2500 that currently has about 46,000 miles. My transmission seems to have a shudder when shifting from 1st-2nd & 2nd-3rd under low acceleration. It also has harsh downshift when slowing down going back to 2nd and 1st. A few months ago the dealership replaced 1-2 shift solenoid...
A video I saw from the Chicago auto show said that the manual is only available on the 2019's if you have a Diesel. I can't remember if this was on the 2500 and 3500 or just the 3500 though.
I got the Nitto Ridge Grapplers a few months ago and so far like them a lot. We had quite a bit of snow over the past month or so and they got around pretty good. The only issue I had was not having enough weight in the back to help them dig in but once I put a few hundred lbs of sandbags in the...
Eventually I plan on leveling the front of my 2014 2500. I then plan on getting 35x12.5 tires. I am going to keep the stock 20" rims. I'm not sure the width on them though. My question is, will I need spacers to clear the 35x12.5's?
That sucks. Glad I got mine lowered before Chrysler did this! They only lowers my rear to 65 and left the front alone. I was going to have them lower both a little more since most tires I want have 65 max PSI. I know there is the 15? 20? Threshold you can go below but still didn't want or need...
