    So the 6.4, like any gas engine has its limits. I wouldn't say it sucks - but it has to work to pull heavier loads. And that = higher RPM's on climbs. The 6.4 makes power at 3600-4000+ RMP's. To get up grades, it needs to spin at those RPM's... And my truck is bone stock from the manufacturer...

    Payload issue

    Remember to consider tongue weight in the payload calc. My travel trailer has 8-900# tongue weight, plus another 60 or so for the hitch - that left me with little or no payload capacity on my old 1500 for people, dogs and "stuff".

    My 6.4 is similar. When towing I set the cruise at 64+/- & lock out 6th gear, sometimes 5th. If its very windy or gently rolling the truck will bounce between 4th & 5th, so I lock 5th out.     2015 2500 will not take fuel

    This is a known issue, and I have no idea why it happens. My truck will not take fuel intermittently - have to fill it slowly. But the majority of times, at the same stations, it fills just fine.

    Not needed. I have the 6.4 & have over 25k towing a 33' TT that is about 9k loaded. Trans temps run at 168-170 in just about all conditions/loaded and unloaded, towing and not towing.

    Can you stop them? You can buy an install an aftermarket one for less than $100... drill two holes on the plastic under the steering wheel and plug the unit into the pre wired port that is stored up under the same plastic.

    2008 5.7 in a Mega Cab. 180k+ miles. Many miles towing 3-5k, including across country. Needed a water pump at 100k, that’s it. 2018 6.4 60k miles, about 1/2 towing 10k all over the place. No engine issues to speak of and I expect 300k out of it.
