Seems pretty obvious to me. Especially with driving a red truck - simply add 250lbs of sand bags in the truck bed and problem solved regardless of air pressure! Simple and cheap the redneck way!
I think this should start off as “Hold my beer…” but seriously if 500 lbs scares you then just pay to have it delivered and bolted to your floor. Those guys have the experience to get it done quickly and “safely” pardon the pun. Happy wife and no broken pieces of your house.
Some safes you...
My 2006 2500 4x4 is manual. I really like the manual transmission but not so much in Houston rush hour traffic. On the occasional times I take it in for maintenance I always get a few people asking if I want to sell it. With only 62K miles I will be holding on to it for a long time especially...
I’m getting a new company truck. F150 with 3.5L Powerboost Hybrid. Great looking specs and highest HP gas engine. I will be interested in seeing if the 24 MPG City and Hwy is real. 430HP and 510 ft# torque should be fun to drive. 0-60 at 5.3 secs is not shabby either. Still not selling my...
Consider yourself lucky. When I changed the copper plugs on my ‘06 Hemi the truck ran fine but 1 mile down the road the computer went out and I got an error message that one injector went out too. Mechanic checked my work and it was perfect. No more problems after the repair.
I’ve seen garage doors on both sides of the garage. Seems like a good idea especially if the back side has a cover for back burner projects or just grilling and such. Sounds like a great addition!
Recently switched all oils & radiator fluid to Amsoil. No engine tiks or failures at 62K miles on my 2006 Ram 2500 4x4 Hemi 5.7 with 6 speed manual but I did have the main computer fail after a spark plug/tune up. Gas mileage sucks but it's paid for and still looks new. Only upgrades left are...
Ditti to your \response Mr. Fields. Houston court system is letting out felons faster than the police can file the paperwork. Cops pick them back up doing the same offense the next day and it is a revolving door downtown. What a waste. New Police Chief won't change a thing either.
Funny I was always a Ford or Chevy guy and heard all the stories of how bad a Dodge Truck can be. My ‘06 Ram 2500 4x4 has proven reliable and has had minimum problems. Had to replace the computer for unknown reasons but everything else is ok. The ride was super stiff (it’s a 3/4 ton duh) but...
I put the 3" Carli Lift and track bar on my '06 2500 4x4 and stayed with the E Load tires and the ride is good. I also put the steering box stabilizer on several years ago and that was a huge improvement with the stock front end. The ride has much more compliance and the back end doesn't hop...
My '06 only has 60K miles but no problems. Always used Mobil 1 with regular changes with a premium brand oil filter. Recently switched to Amsoil due to the lifter failure thread and do not have any of the lifter noise that has been reported by others. Truck is paid for and no plans on getting...
Duralast AGM from Autozone. Just replaced my battery after 7 years - not because it went bad but because I wanted to replace it on my time. They were hard to find late last year. $220 well spent. Got one for my Porsche as well.
I thought the Ferris Bueller's Day off was a Ferrari GT 250 California......however you are correct the dealership won't joy ride and has to drive the vehicle a few miles to make sure it is ready to go to the customer.
Great memories of a funny movie!
I just fought off the new truck bug earlier this year. Why trade in a low mileage truck that you own? I installed a 3" lift and 35" tires & wheels and absolutely love the truck now. No remorse so I recommend to keep your truck. Maintenance can be done to fix any current issues. New prices...
I stayed with the 17” rim but got wider rims to accommodate the 35’s. Softer ride when aired down to 45 psi. Also installed a 3” lift and overall ride is better compared to the stiff factory springs that bounced a lot on washboard roads. It you want a stiffer ride then air up or you can go to...
I did the same thing at 40K miles. Brakes were squeaking so I bought new pads and turned the rotors. The rotors were in good condition with plenty of thickness left so no reason to replace. Will be changing my brake fluid soon but with another 18K on the truck all is good. No sense to spend...
Truck looks great! Added my lift earlier this year and handled it as a DIY. I am planning on adding the fender flares as well but will go with the rivets. Looking at a set from Rock Auto.
I installed a 3” lift on my 2500 4x4 along with Nitto 35” tires on 17” Hoss Rims. Ditched the stock rims as it would void the Nitto warranty. Check your tire manufacturer to see if the stock rims are too narrow. No spacers were needed.
My ‘06 2500 tachometer was acting up and now stays at zero. Not a big deal just waiting for it to cool down in Houston before I spend the time to disassemble the dash and resolder the chips. Will also install some computer board washers to prevent any further issues. It is totally DIY if you...
