So if I am understanding what you wrote the only thing you need to do with the 5100's is now replace the coil springs and the mount kit that is available at any auto parts store if I want all new rather than repurposing old struts?
Is there anything else that the struts don't come with?
Thank you this was very helpful. I assume this is something new with perches because 5 years ago I bought the 5100's and they didn't and it was why I contacted Pro Comp and they replaced my front leveling struts that was on my truck which crapped out again.
What I am asking is since my truck is 10 years old and I bought it 8 years ago used, I have no idea of everything under there so I am looking to make sure I have consistency. If I can take apart an OEM replacement shock and put the parts one would need on either the Bilstein or Eibach struts I...
I was on that site and the prices I saw for a single 100k plus miles on a strut is about 150. That’s insanity. I need to find a fully plug and play option.
Love it! I have the True Blue 2014 with ProComp 2.75" leveling struts that have to be replaced. I have a Zone UCA and Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek in 275/65 R20's. How are the 6112's on road? I am looking at them, the 5100's and the Eibach ProTruck. I am at least 98% on the road with my truck...
Any idea if the Monroe Quick-Strut or another strut in the same price point area can be taken apart?
That would give me a new oem spring, the spring perch and mounting bracket since I need spring perches for the Bilstein 5100's and my truck doesn't have the original oem shocks. My mechanic...
I need the spring perch that the bottom of the front coil spring rests on so I can put it on some Bilstein 5100’s.
It's the piece in the middle of this picture? My mechanic called Ram and they said that part doesn't even have a part number and we would have to but two new struts and take it...
I have a 2014 1500 5.7 with ProComp leveling struts and Zone UCA's. The truck came to me that way when I bought it as a certified preowned vehicle in 2016.
My issue is that in 2019 one of the struts went bad and the company sent me replacements. They have a lifetime no questions asked...
This wasn't the dealer it was a local autobody shop. I only have on street parking so it's not feasible for me to get a welder and try and do it myself. I don't know the extent of the issue but what I've read is most frame repairs go 2k and up.
I found that recall and it was for 2012 and earlier. I think it's BS since what is described in that recall is exactly what happened to me but they aren't covering it.
I just spoke to the body shop and they said they can weld a sleeve on it to patch it for $650! I was dreading the worst. This was even less than what I thought the best case scenario was going to be.
I would rather replace a fan and radiator vs. who knows what a frame costs to fix or replace. My mechanic just took it to a body shop a few doors down and going to have them call me after they look. Crossing my fingers that it won't be too much to fix because a new truck is not in the budget...
Well my day just got better after seeing that there was a 300,000 vehicle recall my mechanic called Ram and they said my VIN is not part of the recall! :banghead::banghead::banghead:
Last week I dropped something and it rolled under my truck and I noticed what looked like the front gas tank strap had broken.
I call my mechanic since it's no longer under warranty and made an appointment for today and just got a call that the front strap and the area of my frame that it...
I have a paid off 2104 Ram 1500 Big Horn with 102k that I love. My son just went into the Navy and with the pay cut he is experiencing it looks like I am going to have to start paying his loan on a used 2013 Ford F 150 Crew Cab with the 3.5 twin turbo. I think he has 3 years left on the loan but...
That's why I said my experience seemed to be the exception especially when it came to rain performance. They were the best tire I have used in snow, did better than expected off road but for ME were scary in rain. But Cooper apparently doesn't like to hear the truth even when you are praising...

So far awesome!
I wouldn’t normally do a review with only 1000...
Not sure what I did to **** off the seagulls but they had multiple bombing runs on my truck last night and this morning so had to wash it before going out. Took this pic in the parking lot.
Well I got the new tires earlier this week. I ended up getting the Cooper Discoverer Rugged Treks in 275/65r20. The advertised specs are slightly bigger than most 285/65’s at 34.7/11.5. So far they are much better in turns than the AT3’s I had before and nearly as supple on the bumps. They are...
I am running a very similar set up as you. I have a 2014 1500 with Hemi, ProComp SS leveling struts at 2.75”, Zone UCA’s, Suspension Maxx Sway Bar links. On the stock chrome clad wheels I put on the day before yesterday the new Cooper Discoverer Rugged Treks in 275/65r20. They run larger than...
2014 Ram 1500, 5.7l with ProComp SS leveling struts at 2.75”, Zone UCA’s and Suspension Maxx sway bar links. Stock Chrome Clad 20’s with 275/65r20 Cooper Discoverer Rugged Treks. Stated size by Cooper is 34.7/11.5 so actually larger than most 285/65r20’s. So far they ride great and are almost...
Got new LT 275/65r20 Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek tires. They are significantly taller and wider than the stock 275/60r 20’s in both the OEM SRA’s and the Discoverer AT3’s I had last. The listed dimensions are 34.7 x 11.5 so more like a 285/65r20. Regardless in the first 20 miles they soaked...
