To Gut a cat or not to Gut a cat, that is the question

Thanks, the one on my truck has 190k and it was a oil burner. I have this 414 c.i.d. stroker now and the thought crossed my mind, may squeeze a few more HP.

New transmission, now cranks but won't start

Odds are is that when the transmission was installed the crank sensor got bumped and it fractured inside. If memory serves me right certain things wont turn on while in cranking mode but will work while in run mode. if the ecm does not see a crank signal it wont turn on the fuel pump while...

To Gut a cat or not to Gut a cat, that is the question

Has anyone who has removed the Catalytic converter noticed a difference in performance or not. I am not worried about a check engine light code P0420, I know how to get around that.

Head Valve size to use on Stroked 360

Since you're probably gonna need new heads anyway, Just get the EQ monster magnums with the 1.970 Intake 1.630 exhaust. Also give Lunati cams tech dept. a call getting the best cam for your truck, they will ask you numerous questions about your truck and what you want to do.

    Well it's done Finally, 414 c.i.d. stroker

Your Right and I do use it, but when your old you want the truck to warm up the inside faster. Letting sit and idle for 10-15 minutes to warm up can get expensive when your buying 93 octane fuel from the local sunoco.

    Well it's done Finally, 414 c.i.d. stroker

Yea I used the snap on scanner and did the fuel/spark sync. The funny thing is when I put the M1 on the old motor it did the same thing and i never had the distributor out of the engine

    Well it's done Finally, 414 c.i.d. stroker

I hope so, I even bought the pod adapter that goes on top of the steering column trim that looks factory. I have a question for dapepper9, when you installed your M1 did you notice the truck running rich and have pop backs thru the throttle body before the tune? I had the M1 on my old motor...

    Well it's done Finally, 414 c.i.d. stroker

OK so I'm stupid I kept shooting of the top of my head, what I originally purchased a Superchips Flashpaq Tuner # 4845 a year and a half ago from Summit Racing. I recently bought a SCT 9550 PCM Flash Tool Chrysler/Dodge from eBay and I still need to install the AEM Electronics wideband Air/Fuel...

    Well it's done Finally, 414 c.i.d. stroker

Thank you very much. The funny thing is that I had the rich problem with old motor and the M1 intake, short term and long term numbers are way in the negative. I at first thought is was due to the old motor turning to crap, burning oil bad, cracked heads and just tired. I have bought 6 factory...

    Well it's done Finally, 414 c.i.d. stroker

I wanna apologize for the late replies, I thought I got a email when somebody posts on the thread. I did .060 over with the Scat stroker kit, when I ordered it they gave me a option, The tuner I have is a SCT diablo I bought from Summit racing before the motor took a crap. I personally never...

Has any used the Engine Quest Monster Magnum Cylinder heads, I have a set that lasted 1 hour and a valve stuck and banged a piston. I spent 1 year building a 411 stroker motor and I finally finished it and installed it this week, started it the other night and man did it sound mean. I only ran...

sorry for the late response guys, I'm doing a stock bottom end, i picked up a motor on craigslist from a guy that had it sitting for 10 years out a 2002. i took it apart to re ring it and new bearings. being the heads are known for cracking and instead of going out and buying a set of regular...

EQ Magnum VS EQ Monster Magnum heads.

OK guys sorry I've been away for a bit had a few health issues that are kind of ironic with this subject. As some of you remember I was looking to build a stroker motor and was starting to purchase everything needed to do the job. all I need now is the rotating assembly and the machine work...

Questions concerning fuel pumps for the 5.9 magnum longevity

Not trying to start a rumble here, but i was just wondering how long people have had fuel pumps last in there truck and what did they replace it with. And the other question is, I am going to be replacing the motor in the near future with a stroker and is the factory pump going to be ok for...

Stroke or not to stroke that is the question

Well after talking to flyin ryan about the tune and stuff and whether to just do a stroker or turbo the magnum, he said that he has worked and tuned both, and he was telling me that both are good options but he said he the stroker is probably best for what I am trying to achieve. I'm gonna have...

Stroke or not to stroke that is the question

Well it looks like the consensus is to just turbo it, I was hoping that the stroker was going to be a better option for more torque.

Stroke or not to stroke that is the question

I noticed all you diesel guys are all about that boost. I'm just not a big fan of turbo's, don't like the lag and that goofy blow off noise. I would love to get a blower but that's no in the cards at this time, after talking to hughes engines and running the 9.4:1 compression and the ARP...
