One more year for the "Classic"

I dont think the gen5 looks cheap in any way. However, I dont care for the crease or indent on the doors though. And with the new hood I wouldnt be able to add my personal rally stripes properly -some people may not like those either, but everyones taste is different and I am glad they are. We...

    Multi-function tailgate?

Wow -thats alot of dough!! $3,635. And why do you have to pay $995 for a tailgate? Wouldnt the truck include one from the start?

    Tape on door coming off

I would like to take that tape off too, I think the paint looks much nicer. However, I dont see how without pulling off the window rain guards and breaking them - they really hold on. Or is this the sacrifice that is enevitable? Anyone remove those and be able to re-use?

Victim of leak 3rd brake light?

my 2012 had a slight leak - i removed the lens and noticed the gasket wasnt seated properly. Easy fix for me and am still using the original with zero issues.

Would you buy another Hemi - Poll?

I have been pondering that as well. Mix 2 jugs (5w-20) (5w-30) might be the ticket with a 25 weight.

    Undercarriage care

I do Krown every year too. Truck undercarriage looks great but its messy as hell if you want to do anything under there. Fair trade-off to me. If you dont mind them drilling holes in some panels, they will spray that it to the areas that are more prone to rusting from the inside. I have this...

    Black Lug Nuts

I bought my 2012 at 2yrs old--I assume they are factory(chrome)with one misshapen lug. No rust on any of them and I am in the rust belt. Why are lugs rusting on trucks, are they all aftermarket that are rusting. Does anyone have that issue with the originals (OEM) ?

What motor oil and oil filter do you use and why?

I think I will stay with the pup year round 5w-20. Why mess with something that is working great with my Ram.

Would you buy another Hemi - Poll?

My HEMI is 8yrs old now and I still love it. I sometimes hear a tick for 3 or 4 seconds on start-up but that quickly goes away. After everything is up to temps it is very smooth sounding and frankly pretty quiet unless i throttle her up. I have felt zero loss in power from day 1. My Hemi is not...

What motor oil and oil filter do you use and why?

I have also always used the pup 5-20 synthetic and usually a mobil-1 synthetic filter. 8yrs and no issues at all but i should add that I dont tow anything- only haul firewood in the box now and then. Thinking of going to a 30 weight for summer and back to 20 for the shit cold up here in winter...

    Bonehead moment

Ya , i can see the holes for them now. They serve double duty -probably placed right above the pipes for that extra protection though. Nice bumper with heavy steel and many functions--me like!!

Odd Outer Wear on Left Rear Tire & Vibration ...

I also suggest running more air in the rears. Crazy maybe, but do you turn right much more often than left and maybe a little fast. It is possible to go to work everyday and back home and only turn right for the majority of the drive. Start with more air.

Thud when taking off from stop

I am also curious about this 2-pc driveshaft. When did this start and why. I could maybe see it on a mega-cab with an 8 foot bed. How common is this and again "WHY"?

    Mud flaps yes or no

I know, Rams look much sportier with just a quality tonneau cover--however, that cap gives you a little camper on wheels that you can really make comfy especially if you have the 6.4 bed or longer.

    Mud flaps yes or no

If you see that trucker at your shop again-tell him he needs a new matching pair on his rig and show him what you did with the one you found -hey, you didnt know where it came from. He cant take the old one back if its cut in half. Maybe he will give you the other one- maybe. Pretty good use of...

    Mud flaps yes or no

those look real good and cant beat the price. I bought my truck 2yrs old -2012 Bighorn- it has what I assume to be factory mopars-does that mean the original purchaser had to pay extra for mudflaps as an option? Just curious-I always figured they all came with them and some people removed them.

    Spark Plug Nut Stripped

Just gotta say that this forum is so helpful to us all--many of the members know their stuff and are so willing to provide their knowledge to keep us on the road with our trucks without always having to go to a dealership or mechanic unless we are out of our scope of abilities. I learn so much...

    Dang squeaky door hinge

I used the fluid film too when it was just a slight creak and it went right away never to return. That was 5yrs ago. But it wasnt real loud. I did all doors and hood hinges as well some electrical connections I could reach easy enough. Love the stuff-but it doesnt like rubber (it will make it...

    Bonehead moment

Nice sturdy bumper!! I also like how it has guards to protect the dual exhaust from getting all bashed up and making a real mess all the way up to the engine.

    Car wash drying

I have to agree. I have only ever hand-washed my truck. In the fall I put a heavy layer of meguiars liquid wax and all I need is to go to the wash bay and spray it down in the winter to remove salt etc. With the wax, it comes out pretty clean. I dont trust the auto ones with their huge brushes...
