Yeah, the bracket needs to come off. Only a few bolts and then you can get that short coolant hose off the intake.

Yeah, was just reading a few threads that said to tear it down because there will be metal shavings every where in the engine.
Thought about getting a used one too.

Yeah I was just thinking about that. Really wanted my truck for the winter. Plus I'm going to have add up the cost and hope I can get what I need.
Could the crank and pistons stay in?

Ok well crap, didn't look at the whole thing when I first took a look. But somehow a lobe for cylinder 1 and 2 are done for. Not sure how I managed to do this but looks like I'll be getting that cam I was thinking about

Well found the problem, now I just hope that it didn't damage anything else and that it's all in the pan. New lifters showed up from summit so I am going to replace all of them just in case any others are about to go

This is my first time messing around in an engine. Swapped the pushrod's and got the same result. So I really think it may be the lifter.

Pulled the valve cover off and turned the engine over by hand. The cylinder 2 exhaust valve doesn't move. The arm moves slightly but the valve doesn't open

Been driving it to work. Happened on my way into work last night. It was driving well and then it started acting up.

Well cylinder 2 has an issue the other plugs in that side looked clean. There is also a hairline crack on the insulator but that could have been from me removing it

Ugh, have codes p0300, p0302, p0304, and p0308. So it seems that one side of the engine is misfiring. Could definitely feel and hear it. Going to pull the plugs once it cools down

I hooked a toggle switch up to the run wire for the fans. I've been starting the truck before turning the fans on and I turn them off before I shut off the truck. So far no issues.
Well, there is 1 problem. Apparently the throttle valve lever and return spring vanished. Noticed it wasn't...
