hmm. im about as dumb as it gets regarding computer stuff and i have no problem with the tech authority cd. it opens with IE on mine if i recall. its hard to imagine someone being even dumber than me with a computer. and i dont think you need a internet connection. seems like i used mine with no...
im thinking you could of just bench tested the actuater to see if it worked rather than unloading the parts cannon. but yes your old one is still good im sure. tcase position sensor was likely setting off the dash light all along
its near impossible to do any diagnosis by video. sounds are amplified ,skewed ,distorted.
your sound isnt anything like a bad lifter which is a unmistakable constant tapping.
three brand new trucks (albeit 15-20yo trucks with different axle than the op) and each with a bad unit bearing. im always suspicious that someone could be so unlucky.
if the truck is mainly street driven i would expect the bearings to last 150k no prob. maybe they were short on grease from the manufacturer. but to need new ones at 87k i would dig into why if it were my truck but thats just the investigater in me.
heres some things that increase wear to...
lets see the paper work from the dealer showing what they did.
it sounds like neither your or the dealer knew what the sound was. all we can do is speculate at this point.

this sort of stuff happens everyday. guy buys new truck...

plenty of ford forums out there. hundreds of threads. no secret what youll be buying
you running bro dozer wheels ? you positive the wheel bearing needs replaced ? we have these trucks going down potholed dirt roads everyday and they arent worn out at 87k. maybe your diagnosis is wrong ?
you have a factory service manual and the rear it says 1" below the hole ? +/- how much ?
the front should be the same its always been as its the same axle since 2014. there was a specified qauntity. 2.3-2.6qt or something like that. does the factory manual say something different now ? and if...
the rear diff oil level has a wide range that is considered acceptable. is it 10mm below the hole. +/- 10mm ? i dont have my service book in front of me but i recall something like that.
the front it seemed like there was just a qauntity range with no mention of filling to the hole or anything...
reuse the gasket and be sure you tighten the bolts correctly. cross pattern ,probly with low or medium thread lock , 25ftlb or so.
if you didnt measure the drained oil then youve no idea if it was low. clunking could be a number of things. might even be normal gear slop in the trans or tcase
