    2020 1500 Limited Ecodiesel 4x4 3.92 real world MPG

I've got a 2020 Laramie 4x4 with 3.92 and ORG. I've got about 2000 miles on mine and do 60% around town and 40% highway. In the 3 fill ups I've done so far I've averaged 23 MPG hand calculated. I've done a couple of shorter all highway trips and have seen 27-28 MPG at 70-75 MPH. So far I love...

    Thinking about new Ecodiesel

I’ve had my 2020 Laramie Ecodiesel for a week now, love everything about it. I’m averaging 24 MPG on the lie-o-meter in around town driving. The engine is very quiet and has plenty of pick up off the line and when merging in traffic. I wish I could comment on longevity/reliability, but...

F-150 to Ram 1500, Looking for Thoughts

Yeah, I traded in a 2017 F150 XLT 5.0 on this truck and it's payload was 1740. No doubt the aluminum body panels in the F150 give it a weight advantage. That being said, if you were to look at a Bighorn or Lonestar without all of the skid plates that come with the Offroad/Protection group and...

F-150 to Ram 1500, Looking for Thoughts

I just purchased a 2020 1500 Laramie Ecodiesel Crew Cab and the payload is 1135 lbs with a 9535 lb towing capacity with 3.92 rear end. GVWR on the truck is 7200 lbs. So far I'm really enjoying the Ecodiesel and think it'd be great as a tow vehicle, but the lower payload does limit how big a TT...

    Tuner Questions!

I believe you’ll have to contact Diablo and buy a new license for your VIN in order to use it. The Trinity can be used on mulitple vehicles, but you’ll need a license for each one.

AT Tires for HD... bear with me

Disregard, just saw Nittos are out of the question.

    Tire recommendations

I have Nitto EXO Grapplers on my truck. They are Nitto's Heavy Duty All Terrain AWT tire and make a great all around tire. They ride smooth, are fairly quiet for an aggressive tread, and wear very well on 3/4 tons. I've got about 4000 miles on mine and they are doing great. They are also...

    Pallet of sod

I hauled a pallet in my 2500 about a month ago. The rear end barely squatted and it rode like a dream. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    The Delmonico GLOW!

I love mine, totally different look in the shade vs sunlight.

Have you ever experienced the rear window/brake light leak?

I haven't had an issue with my 2500, but my 2011 1500 Longhorn leaked like a sieve and flooded the back seat everytime it rained. My 2014 1500 Outdoorsman leaked from the third brake light also, but not all the time.

    6.4l- 87 vs 89 vs 93

I run 89 octane in mine day to day with a Hemifever 87/89 tune. When 93 octane goes below $2.50 per gallon, like it is right now, I'll put that in with a HF 93 octane tune. The engine runs noticeably smoother and stronger on 93 octane, but again, that is because I am using a tune optimized for...

Nitto Exo Grapplers on the way

Yep, I went back this morning and had them flip the two around, looks much better now!

Nitto Exo Grapplers on the way

They have a dual sidewall design, aggressive on one side, more subdued on the other, so you have a choice. I told them to make sure the aggressive, chiseled design was mounted facing out, I should have known better letting Walmart mount them.

Nitto Exo Grapplers on the way

I had the EXOs mounted today. Thanks to the geniuses at the Wal-Mart tire center (and me for not catching it), you can get a good look at the two different sidewall designs the tire has. Initial feedback is good, the tires are smooth and handle much better than the stock tires, although they...

Nitto Exo Grapplers on the way

Oops, I see you best me to it. Looking elsewhere on line, no one else beats Walmart's prices on the EXOs in my size. They may just be trying to reduce inventory, as not all sizes are discounted that heavily.

Nitto Exo Grapplers on the way

Just browsing Walmart, the EXOs in 35x12.5R18 are $135 off per tire. That's a hell of a deal!

Nitto Exo Grapplers on the way

The Toyo R/Ts are nice tires, but to me the EXOs appear to offer a great mix of durability, ride comfort, all weather traction and looks. I read several reviews on the cumminsforum and those who use them swear by them. Plus, Walmart had my size for $50 off per tire...

Nitto Exo Grapplers on the way

Well, the OEM Transforce ATs on my 2500 Outdoorsman are about toast after 18,000 miles. I need a tire that'll hold up to hot summer highway asphalt, tow our travel trailer well and hopefully get me to at least 50,000 before needing replacing. After tons of research I decided to go with Nitto...

    Tow Specs for 2015 Outdoorsman

I had a 2014 Outdoorsman, payload was just over 1200 pounds. Ended up buying a travel trailer so had to trade it in for a 2500 Outdoorsman to get more payload. While the 1500 Outdoorsman has upgrade shocks, the coils are the same and that is what limits the payload.

    6.4L performance and efficiency improvements?

I average between 14-15 MPG with a mix of city/hwy on my daily commute. The average when highway only is around 17 MPG when keeping the speed no more than 70 MPH. As others have said, anything over 70 MPH and drag really starts eating into fuel economy. I have a HF tune on mine and stepping...

First tow coming up- break in ?

The owner's manual recommends a 500 mile break in period before towing. My understanding is the break in period is primarily for the drive train. With 1300 miles on the truck you should be good to go.

    Picked up our new fiver

Please let us know how your truck does towing it. We have been looking at the same model, just concerned how my 6.4 with 3.73s will do towing a 12,000 GVW 5th wheel. It does great with our 8500 pound travel trailer, but 12000 is just about at max towing with the 3.73s.

    32 gallon tank??

It's been posted a few times that Ram builds in a 6 gallon reserve for cooling of the fuel pump, which is submerged in the fuel tank. Running the tank down too much could cause overheating of the pump.

I would like your advice on 5th Wheel guys

I run 89 octane with a HF tune when pulling our 8500 pound GVW Flagstaff TT. With the tune and 89 octane I have noticed that the truck will just pull right up a smaller hill in 5th gear where before it would have to downshift a gear to make the same hill (probably more tune related than octane...

    New Ram purchase

I would certainly want a 2013 as that is when RAM introduced the 8 speed transmission in the 1500. If I were buying a 1500 I for sure would want the 8 speed, night and day difference between it and the 5 speed in the 2011 and the 6 speed in the 2012
