    -20 c = - 4 Fahrenheit. -15c = 5 -10c = 14 Fahrenheit. 0 c = 32 F When you look at the -20 there is infitecimial difference between the 5w and 0w which could be brand related.

    It's summer! 5w is fine unless you are going to a very hot area. Next oil change go to 0w40 redline. Do you have a block heater in your truck? If not, that would be a better add for winter then playing with your oil. There are also oil heaters that you place on the oil pan.

    Yea, 5W30 redline is not the right oil for your truck 0w40 redline is better. It has more moly. It gives better protection at start up It gives better protection at high temps.

    Interesting I've used Lucas products but many people put them down. My first gear oil change was Lucas, 2nd Castrol, next will be Amsoil. I think I go back to Lucas after that. I tow, so change it at 20K.

    After the 500 miles go with the oil you want. Also, read your manual for gear oil changes after that. There are two - normal and severe - severe is about 20,000 miles, if I remember correctly.

    Be careful of who you listen to on a forum. A lot of bad information. Nitto doesn't require anything special after the 500 miles. Even with my truck when new, the break in was similar...

    You don't know what you are talking about. The tube is long to reach the lowest part of the pan. It is fully immersed in oil. The pump is always primed. Rattle - the tube is secured in two places. What is rattling? Please stop posting misinformation.

    One thing I always worry about is that the mechanic will screw with my truck if I yell at them. In your situation I would have just said; why would I ask you to service the transmission if I could do it myself?
