MDS lifter operation question.
Been using 5W30 since 10,000 miles. Very happy with performance of it and UOA#'s to. To avoid oil brand debate I'll say all respectable top tier oils have worked great and same UOA#'s as well. My only concern is longevity of the MDS lifter against the non MDS lifter.- Incredible78

Redline does reccomend the D6 ATF in the ZF8HP70 transmission. Mopar sticker on the transmission even says use only Mopar 8 and 9 speed fluid in it. According to that they do not even support the ZF lifeguard 8 fluid. Sounds like a warranty racket to me.- Incredible78

8HP70 Trans Fluid Change
I've used the Valvoline Max life fluid. Go to there site and there is paperwork documenting they stand behind the fluid in the ZF8HP45 and 70 transmission. Exhaust manifold leak again!
Previous reply was error. My fix was to get the Reflex gaskets and I located titanium studs and bolts. I know it's overkill but from my research I found no corrosion from titanium bolt to aluminum threads. I can't say I'm 100% correct on the corrosion issue but it has worked for me and the...- Incredible78

MDS lifter operation question.
I have a 2014 Hemi 5.7 MDS VVT. It's in the 1500 pick-up. I have the MDS shut off through the Diablo tuner. I believe the tuner cuts the signal to the selenioid that controls oil flow to the MDS lifter for it's operation during cylinder deactivation. Synthetic Motor Oil Poll 2017
I've used Redline 5W-20, Amsoil SS 5W-20 & 5W30, and mobil 1 annual protection 5W20. The great oil debate will NEVER end or be won, so I'm sure we can all agree is we want the best protection for these engines. It's red in color. Bought it and changed it awhile ago. Amsoil site will also give you the Mopar part number so you can search for it that way. About 10-15 a quart.- Incredible78
