I've got some cracks in both of my 2017 rear tail light assemblies. I can get new ones from RockAuto.com but I'm looking to see if anyone had a very good condition set of stock halogen taillights. I don't need bulbs, connectors, or the 3rd brake light. Shipping would be to St Paul, MN 55124...
Add another to the list. I'm 6'3" and constantly get surprised by "hidden" cars due to the massive A-Pillar and/or rear view mirror. I hate having to crane my head up, down or to the side to get full visibility at every single stop. Visibility is fine other than that...but it's a pretty big one!
Took the sand back out of the bed. I swear, this better be the last time they need to be in until fall
Also cleaned the garbage out of the center console. Out of sight, out of mind can lead to a big mess, hah.
I had about 275 to the wheels on my speed3. Was bar-none the funnest car I've owned. I kept it for a bit over a month when I first got my old Tacoma (trying to sell the speed3 during that time) and I actually scared myself with how fast it felt after getting used to the truck, haha. I didn't...
I use the sand in the bed for two reasons; 1) So I don't need to be in 4x4 all winter, and 2) because I don't have winter tires and just use the stock ones, which aren't great in snow. I also have a bed cover on and park in my garage, so snow doesn't really fill up to weigh me down.
I have mine because I didn't care about gas mileage at the time, figured I'd use it a good bit as I was buying my first home, it had the best ride (rear suspension) when compared to other full size trucks, and the price was pretty dang good.
I put 240lbs of sand back into my bed two days ago in prep for the stupid "bomb cyclone" or whatever they call it hitting us here in MN. Freak snowstorm after days of nice, sunny, dry weather? YUP, that's MN for ya!
33 years old here and sitting at 20+ vehicles total, I think? I can't remember them all.
Some fun notes: Only had the motorcycle for one season; learned to ride then sold it. Haven't been on a bike since. Didn't own a V8 until very recently with the Tundra, and other than an old, beater...
I'm with you on this. Color-matched cross-hairs if the bumper is color matched, and chrome if bumpers are chrome. I don't hate any of the grills by themselves, but some work better on certain truck setups much better than others.
Replaced the LED bulbs I put in place of the stock ones (interior, 3rd brake light and license plate light) with....well, the stock ones again!
Another step towards going back to stock.
E-Fan and Hellwig Rear Sway Bar coming off this weekend, I think. It's actually pretty neat slowly going...
This is how I remembered that I had the 32 gallon tank on mine. Like everyone is saying here, my light comes on way before 32 gallons is used...and whenever I'd fill up, I'd only fill low or mid 20s. Had me thinking my memory of a 32 gallon was wrong -- until I downloaded that window sticker...
That's a good point. One of the driving forces that brought me to ram was the cost; their discounts were noticeably better than everyone else in the truck game. If they had put the best parts on right off the bat, there's no doubt their prices would be closer!
That's a lot of work putting in sound-deadening the right way like that. Bravo! I've been playing with the idea of doing that to my wife's Escape -- the road noise is pretty aggressive in that thing.
Thanks for all the suggestions, guys! Sounds like the 3M spray adhesive remover is the vote for my next try. I'll definitely make sure to buff or at least quick polish and wax once it's gone.
I use isopropyl alcohol on my phone screen every few days. You're right; those things get filthy. I think everyone knows how dirty they are but until you actually clean it off and look at what was pulled...blegh!
I've got some "prep-all" I use when I want to clean something before...
I'm glad multiple people chimed in on this being normal. I was crossing my fingers when I first experienced it, hoping it wasn't special to this truck!
Gah, I totally forgot about the rattles I have also! It started shortly before it got cold up here in MN, and then a new rattle appeared in the coldest months...now both are intermittent! I've learned to live with it but if i have a longer commute, it'd drive me nuts!
I took the dealer sticker off my tailgate right when I got it, but it left behind some of their glue/adhesive. I've never run into anything that is this stubborn in coming off. I've tried all sorts of things, and many of them twice. Is there a product you swear by that'll remove any kind of...
My garage is doing double duty as my shed, until I cough up the cash for a real one out back. Other than all that stuff, it holds my tool box, wife's Ford Escape, and some drywall. Extremely unexciting =(
I'm getting pretty annoyed at the creaking when you just baaaarely creep forward while still on the breaks. It's done it since day 1 and doesn't have any other weird break issues, so I'm assuming it's normal?
Been slowly taking my truck back to stock in prep to try and get out of the lease on it. I find I'm just commuting in it more than anything else these days, so it makes sense to get back into something smaller (for me).
Today I took my Flowmaster Outlaw muffler off and put the stock one back...
Oh, the ways that could go...
I used the middle one. I know the instructions say to start at the back one, but I figured I've got experience with stiffer rear sway bars and will be towing soon, so I'd start at the middle. Maybe drop it back one?
I should also mention that I got it on...
Started to take some mods OFF the truck to get ready for a total of 3600+ miles over the next month, with half of that towing for the first time ever.
Removed my 2" drop rear springs, my flowmaster outlaw muffler, and will be taking my e-fan off to put my clutch fan back on.
On the plus side...
I think there's plenty of cheap work that's good. Not everything has to be expensive, but I know what you're getting at.
The springs i got were these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mmc-44055/overview/make/dodge/model/ram-1500 . Picked them up used, at 1/4th the price of new. For...
