Well, it gets worse. The pinion bearing spun in the housing and now it looks like I need a new housing (front axle assemble) now if I could just find one.
Ok so I heard back from the shop today. It seems that an inner front axle bearing bad and the truck needs new bearing kit and in pinion shaft. And guess what if you own a 2008 - 2013 and need one of these you are out of luck as they have been discontinued. So I guess it is up to the...
They are going to crack the dif open as they say they hear it making a bit more noise then they expect it too. They also say that today the truck is driving across the parking lot.... should have a definitive answer by tomorrow I guess.
Truck is a 2013 RAM 2500 with the 6.7 turbo diesel 6 speed auto and electronic switch to go between 2 wd and 4 wd and currently has 168k miles. On my way out of town I slowed to make a turn into a car wash and my front axle locked up. It was not the brakes but appears to be a problem in the...
My truck is a 2013 2500 with the 68RFE. After about an hour run through the mountains. (running unloaded with trailer towing and exhaust brake activated) I made it to the home stretch where I motor up a 1000' incline which includes 1/4 mile of 12 % grade @25 mph. When I get to this point I...
So I got curious and got under the hood. I think I'm wrong about what they did. I was thinking they replaced all of the upper hoses the one that has the Y pipe and the one that comes off of the Y and goes to a second radiator. (I had no idea that extra radiator existed). Looking at the...
This is on my 2013 ram 2500 with 6.7 cummins. For month's I have been looking for a coolant leak. The dealer has looked a time or too as well. (very minor) but I could smell coolant all of the time. I had pretty much decided this was an issue with the EGR cooler which was replace less than a...
When I took my truck for a test drive before purchasing, one of the things I did was stop on the side of a pretty steep grade and try to pull away. When I did this the truck did not move for several seconds and then started spinning the rear tires. What I later learned is that the truck has a...
I have not notice my hood on my 2014 2500 flex while driving but it flexes a lot when you go through the drier section of the local car wash. Seems these hoods are pretty dang thin. I wouldn't be to concerned as I don't believe this kind of flex will distort the paint or weaken the metal or...
I checked with the dealer where I purchased my 5ver and they had absolutely no concerns putting an adapter on or converting to a goose neck pinbox. I' am still looking for a deal on the Anderson though. I like just about everything about it.
I believe converting is probably not an issue for most manufactures. And by converting I mean to say remove your current pin box and replace it with a goose neck style pinbox. I believe what they have a problem with is the adapters that attache to your standard 5th wheel pinbox that then mount...
Thanks for pointing out the Anderson. The one draw back (and perhaps it is not needed) is my current hitch is a manual slider hitch. I'm thinking (not real sure) but I think my old Duramax bed had a bit more clearance. But the interesting thing here is this give me more ideas on what to do...
Hey first post here.
My truck came with a Draw-Tite Under Bed goose neck hitch. I have a 32' 5ver and am looking to get this rig setup for hauling. I seem to have 3 options
1) install rails to mount the 5th wheel hitch into the truck.
2) convert the 5th wheel into a goose neck (new pin...
