I think they want you to re-install your factory unit, then make a phone call and turn the volume all the way up. Then put their head unit back in. Not sure how that would solve the issue but it's all I can think of.
Do you know if they were plug and play, and if they needed the new input ports in the center armrest for Android interface? It's all still fairly new so not much info.
Especially since the only thing really added is Android Auto and nav (which I likely won't use). I'll get AMP power steps before that head unit. In a year or two there will be some salvaged ones for less.
I want to get that kit too but feel it's not worth the heafty price tag. I have no doubt it will be seamless, I've ordered their products in the past and everything was great.
It's the newest Uconnect with Android Auto.

Do you know where I can get a UAQ unit other than infotainment? I really wanted to upgrade but it's $1,600 which is why this Tesla style was so appealing.
Thanks for the answers! As you are familiarizing yourself with it's capabilities, one other thing I am curious about are the USB (data) and SD inputs in the center armrest and their functionality. Are you able to play data files (mp3, mpv, .mov etc) from both? Essentially can you use your phone...
Couple questions off the top of my head:
1- did you have any issues with any connectors?
2- do you still have 7 speed fan selection?
3- how are the volume and HVAC controls? Are they responsive and are you finding it an easy transition?
4- how is the audio quality?
5- is it running Android...
I'm excited for you! And excited for me. If you love it and can give a full account of your findings, I will likely buy one. I want to add a front camera and cargo camera and this unit has the RCA inputs from what I've seen. Looking forward to hearing your experience!
I just spoke to Linkswell, the products on eBay and Phoenix and Espony are knock offs. If you have 7 speed AC the connectors work, otherwise they'll be wrong. The OS is Android 4.4.4 and will not be updated, ever. Their unit is made in China so maybe the knock offs are the same (patent...
I just watched all the 2 minute how to videos on Linkswell's YouTube channel, and the unit appears to be awesome. Can anyone confirm the awesomeness? I noticed some of you still waiting to get your units, I think there are a lot of people looking forward to your reviews.
I just looked at the product on Phoenix's website and in the specifications it shows an operating system of Android 4.4.4, which is old and not supported anymore. I really want a head unit like this but I'm going to have to wait until questions are answered and I have more confidence in the...
Some info about up and coming auto infotainment technology by Google. It explains Android Auto vs Android Automotive.

I didn't realize Google maps would work off line but I played around with it today and yeah, I can download maps and it'll work offline. If the map database doesn't get updated in 30 days then it gets erased but that wouldn't be an issue for me. After more research, this tablet radio can be...
And it will still control climate and whatever features were stock. I wonder if Google maps would work offline with just GPS antenna (if the local maps were saved).
I was going to get the infotainment retrofit kit also until I saw the Tesla style available. I think at this point I'm going to wait to see what else comes out in the next year. The Tesla radio is nice because it isn't restricted (can enter addresses or text when moving) but it doesn't have XM...
