    Blackstone - used oil analysis

I use PAPE for oil analysis I use PAPE for oil analysis. Just the way they flag items, in that case the engine was newer and breaking in. RL 5/30 just seemed to be better than the Amsoil 5/20ss. The dual filter bypass allows me to run extended oil interval as it was the best result in spite...

    Blackstone - used oil analysis

Here is my latest oil analysis with RL 5/30. Just over 20k mile oil change with nearly 100k miles on engine. Using Amsoil air filter and Amsoil dual remote bypass filter system.

    Reading plugs and coils

Changing plugs today around 95k Cylinder 2 (left) has more corrosion on contact points and does not move, springs inside boot don't move. Boots are somewhat distorted. Plugs gap between .38-.40. Appear leaner than cylinder 4. Cylinder 4 (right) appears in good condition. Springs move and...

    Pwm controller/v6 electric fan install

Cool. Thanks for being a pioneer. I remember checking those guys out but never went any further after futile attempts with the dealer and greene. I need to do something with my Factory PWM fan and 3.6 fuse box/harness...

    Pwm controller/v6 electric fan install

Interesting. Does this tap into the factory PWM wire (it's inert on the Hemi trucks) on the main harness or does this bypass everything altogether?

    V6 Efan swap

Free's up engine space. Improves initial throttle response due to less drag. Yeah you need a tune for it to activate it so it kicks on before 220. Otherwise, I believe you have to run AC to get it to turn on sooner. Did not notice any mpg improvement. Have been using an E-fan setup for over...

    Pwm controller/v6 electric fan install

I would possibly be interested. I have a complete Pentastar Fan with harness, and spare fuse box with all the relays/fuses.

    Good solid brake rotors?

DITTO to Wagner. I am using Wagner Rotors and Wagner OEX pads. Much better than factory.

    Blackstone - used oil analysis

First sample of RL 5/30 but on second oil change of RL 5/30 at 9500ish miles on the oil. Contemplating to run up 12,000 and change?

Longtubes with Cats, what muffler/exhaust are you running and does it drone?

DT Tri Y headers, Solo Mach 44 muffler, no CATS minimal drone if any, and not too obnoxious. Definitely recommend LTs and opt for CATs to keep the noise and rasp in check. I sometimes wish I had CATs to have more sleeper truck and cut down on smell.

    Tonneau suggestions

I have a ram box and on my second tonneau cover. The first one came on my pickup when my bought it which a backflip mx4. It got some cosmetic damage in an accident so replaced it with the truxedo sentry CT. (I actually have it for sale) The truxedo sentry is a hard roll-up cover, I definitely...

    Brake Fluid thread

Good thread. I was wondering if it was just me or if that RAM brake fluid gets dirty fast. Now I know. For sure, step 1 to alleviate spongy brakes, step 2 Wagner OEX pads and rotors. Stops like a Euro car now.

BAKFLIP for Ram BOX 5' 7" (4th GEN)

I'll consider it if I can't get it sold locally. I'm not sure what the cost would be to ship it and if that added cost would be worth it to you? It's not perfect, it will need a couple rivets in the latch channels and some new gaskets which could be purchased at a hardware type store.

BAKFLIP for Ram BOX 5' 7" (4th GEN)

Hello, Selling my BAKFLIP MX4 for 4th GEN RAM BOX 5' 7" bed. It got replaced with a rolling cover by insurance as this one sustained some cosmetic damage. It's still functional and complete with hardware, but sold as is. Asking for $250 OBO, new ones are over $1,000. Located near JBLM...

    Bad cam....what to do

ccc That would be awesome if there was in fact a design change to 2017 since that's what I have. I have been following the forum strategy of better oil with RL 5/30. Noticably quieter.

    Wagner OEX Brake Pads

Just finished up the rear this weekend with Wagner OEX pads and Wagner Rotors. I have about 1,500 miles on the front Wagner combo and it made a big difference in stopping power and does seem to dust less. The Wagner rotors are nice that the hat and outside are painted black.

    Manifolds leak again, options please

Shorties shouldn't affect testing as you are bolting into the factory unmodified Y pipe. No change in the factory CATS or location whatsoever. LTs even with CATs are different in the sense that the CATs are high flow (200 cell vs 400) and farther away from the engine, so less heat. That's...

V6 efan vs V8 (and diesel) efan?

I agree with ya on China products and all their related nefarious activities. TYC fan is made in China hence hit or miss and why I stayed clear. The Dorman is made in Taiwan, and I figured I could put the MOPAR/Demsey motor in from the Hemi AC fan if I didn't like the Dorman. I don't know if I...

V6 efan vs V8 (and diesel) efan?

I'm skeptical about the CFM difference between Mopar and Dorman. Motor sure looks the same in size and so does the fan, so does the shroud. There are 3 different fans that are talked about that get mixed up: 1. Hemi AC E-Fan. (unshrouded, smaller diameter fan) it will keep the hemi cool by...

V6 efan vs V8 (and diesel) efan?

I have the Dorman version from summit racing. Its good quality, looks exactly like the Mopar. Pretty sure they have the same CFM. The electric motor is interchangeable with the hemi AC e-fan motor so if you had to have a mopar part you could swap the motor. I'm not stock as I use a 190...

V6 efan vs V8 (and diesel) efan?

I looked into it but at the time the vendor didn't seem confident that it would work on the Ram platform. I think one of the members might have an experimental controller (crazykid??) from them but not used yet. The 3.7 V6 DC fan actually works pretty good that it wasn't worth it to me to keep...

V6 efan vs V8 (and diesel) efan?

I tried. The Hemi PCM on the classic body style cannot be programmed to recognize and fire the PWM fan, even if you wire it in right. (I had complete setup and harness from a junk yard) Needs a special signal. Tried through a well-known tuner and the dealer. You can't even get the fan to...

    Efan conversion for cold climate

The throttle response is better without the clutch fan. I noticed it when I had it off and on and back off. Dorman sells a nice 3.7 V6 fan at a reasonable price. You could always experiment yourself, the AC fan will keep the engine cool, it just cycles on an off more without the shroud.

Which Oil Filter Relocation Kit do you have?

Good thread. Never considered an oil filter relocation kit as way to cool. I'm a long interval guy but I also hate the mess the factory location provides... What you all think of this kit? Plumb directly into the block...

    Poll best TRUCK tire?

I have Toyo Open Country AT3, 275/65/R20. (3/4 ton spec tire) Came on the truck when I bought it. Wouldn't be my first choice as they ARE EXPENSIVE. But will say after 60,000 miles they still have decent tread and wear evenly. Not sure if there worth it though...
