Re:Do Gen 4 Hemi 2500 have trans cooler stock?

Thanks to everyone for their feedback, at this point, being that the trailer will be almost empty for the ride home, I`m leaning towards installing the trans thermostat by-pass and fresh Amsoil. This way I can get baseline data that will let me know if I actually need add mods/cooling! If there...

Re:Do Gen 4 Hemi 2500 have trans cooler stock?

Thanks for the food/bev referral, might just have to treat our friends to a night out! You just might be on to something, the new trailer will be mostly empty (7800lbs) for the trip back, other than AMSOIL and a trans thermostat by-pass maybe I don`t need the add mods at this time, just don`t...

Re:Do Gen 4 Hemi 2500 have trans cooler stock?

Now that everyone has compared the size of their manhood..lol, could we PLEASE STAY ON TASK? Anyone installed a PML deep pan on a Gen 4 2500, 6.4L 4x4 66RFE and did it clear? I`ve been in contact with CJC out here in Cali and the measurements they gave me vs the measurements I took from my truck...

Re:Do Gen 4 Hemi 2500 have trans cooler stock?

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it! I guess more research is in order, I agree SOME 68RFE stuff also fits the 66RFE, very frustrating trying to sort out what also fits gas trucks and what doesn`t, everything is slanted towards the diesel folks...

Re:Do Gen 4 Hemi 2500 have trans cooler stock?

Since buying a new/heavier trailer (travel/toy hauler) my quest to upgrade my Diff & transmission cooling has run into a few hurdles. 1. Apparently Banks only make their new ram-air diff covers for Diesels OR 2019 & newer gas 2500`s (different`t bolt pattern). Mine being a 2016 is not included...

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

The airbags will compensate to a degree but with soft springs you`d need to run 65+ lbs in the air bags which would most likely result in a lot of porpoising which gets annoying after awhile..

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

By my personal experience, for towing, I would NOT recommend the soft 1in Thuren rear spring, especially with 1700lbs of tongue weight! Despite the 1in higher ride the spring rate is more like a 1/2 ton and squat when towing is excessive. The airbags and weight dist hitch help level the tongue...

UPDATE: to anyone making similar changes. Carli CS-DMRC-14-R2 2in progressive rate rear springs are in route from CJC, replacing the too soft Thuren 1in. I aired up my air bags to full and measured the shock up-travel, looks like I have enough travel with the Thuren/King rear shocks that came...

Thinking of making the switch to 2500 6.4

Sounds like you tow fairly heavy, you may want to narrow down your search for one with 4:10 gears and excellent maintenance records for starters..

You are correct, I will be removing the receiver mounted spare tire carrier/hitch and using the oem 2.5in receiver with the new/heavier trailer... I`ll probably carry the truck spare in the trailer when traveling and in the truck bed the rest of the time!

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

Ok, after doing more research I found that Carli offers a heavier rate CS-DMRC-14-R2 rear spring that will ride better than stock but sit about 1in higher than my current Thuren springs giving me a slight forward rake. That should give me a lot less squat and combined with a Weigh Safe heavy...

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

Thanks to all who posted their "real world" experiences, it`s very helpful! With some stiffer rear springs (my current Thuren system has soft almost half ton spring rates) a Banks rear diff cover and deep-pan trans upgrade, thermostat by-pass AMSOIL in everything and an up-rated weight...

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

Unlike the Toyota 4x4s I had when younger, larger tires don`t impact these full size trucks with powerful V8s nearly as much, at least that`s my experience with this truck....worst case I can upgrade the gears, still way cheaper than a diesel! The good news is I penciled out the ACTUAL weight...

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

I will be installing new tires before my trip, going to go with a milder all terrain, probably toyo at, may even drop down to a 35. I realize the truck is currently set-up for the mountains in Big Bear, THE GOAL is to make changes better suited to towing....since the truck is in excellent shape...

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

Thanks to those who shared their feedback so far! After doing some add research...along with the higher rated weight distribution hitch I`m planning on upgrading the rear springs to a heavy duty set (less squat,) adding some additional cooling to the transmission along with the usual Amsoil. The...

Appreciate the comments, looking for feedback from those with experience towing 10-10.5k weight! I`ll be upgrading to a higher rated weight distribution hitch and don`t plan to do a lot of hill/mountain routes...from San Diego mostly across the southern part of the country ending up in Texas...

6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...

Greetings All, it`s been awhile... Looking for 1st hand feedback on towing an aprox 10.5k bumper-pull toy-hauler with a 6.4l hemi 2500. I`m about to upgrade from a 7,800k (loaded) travel trailer (my truck, 2016/2500, 6.4L, 5k air bags, weight dist hitch) tows this no problem what so ever) to an...

People running larger tires, do you have a larger spare tire?

I carry a full size spare (37`s) taking up all of my bed space was not an option for me, I`m running a Riged swing out spare tire carrier, not cheap but worth keeping the full use of my bed.. google it...

Ordered 35's , now second guessing myself

35`s are a good choice, you would have noticed a much bigger change with 37`s vs 35`s, as I did! As previously mentioned, the more aggressive the tread and the heavier the load the faster the tire wear! A Pedal Commander cured the slow roll off to the point I hardly notice the 37`s off the line...

Best Airbag & Onboard Compressor Set Up for 2020 PW?

Give us an update when you`re all done and tested. I`ve run Air Lift 5000 and Daystar cradles for a few years now and the combo has worked well on and off road. Lately we purchased a North Trail 27LRSS (30ft/7600lbs wet) and It only requires about 25lbs of air (mostly for cushion since I run...

    PW flat Black help....

I think that I saw an advertisement on one of the car shows that takes off mold and other crap and is still kind to paint, etc. I think it was a sharkskin product, or something like that!
