    I did indeed utilize the $15 wiring harness not the $100+ wiring harness and it is still using the factory amp - all 7 speakers are live!

    His 2003 Ram 1500 Quad Cab with 5.7L Hemi is 4x2 and is an SLT (US not Canada). So there may be a few differences with the different models. He is not interested in maintaining the steering wheel controls. I appreciate all the info!
