After having replaced the tps and cps tw ice and replacing the throttle body and going over the wiring I have discovered that as soon as the ect light starts flashing, I put the truck in neutral, turn off the key, then start it back up it will be fine for the rest of the day. this usally happens...
I would like to put tow mirrors on my 04 1500 for towing my camper. I have clamp on extensions now but I would like to have the regular tow mirrors. Are there any good after market ones on ebay or should I try to find some OEM in a salvage yard?
My 04 does the same thing, but every once in awhile the drivers door will work just like the rest of the doors. I believe it is just a loose wire or bad ground. I just haven't had the ambition to take the door panel off to fix it yet. The drivers door gets the most use, so this is my thought on it.
If it is 18 degrees in your cab I wouldn't be prying on any plastic parts. Maybe warm them up with a hair dryer or just run the truck with the heater on high.
OK. I'll try the cam sensor too. I'll do some more checking on the wiring while I'm at it. this truck and all it's electrical problems is a real bummer.
I have replaced the throttle body and the spark plugs. Plenty of fuel. I haven't checked the PCV valve, but would that cause the ETC to act up? There was two times last year it happend and I had to have it towed to a shop because it quit running and I was a long way from home. Both times they...
Sometimes after driving a few miles the lightning bolt will flash and the truck will run rough. I shut the truck off. Hook up a scanner and get a no codes present reading. Restart the truck and every thing is fine for a few days, only to have it happen again. CEL is not on when this happens. Can...
I hope you get this resolved soon. It seems to me that the electronics on these 3rd gens can be a real headache. let us know when you get it fixed and what it was. I would think by now there would have been some ideas posted. Good luck.
Try just turning the key to the on position with the engine off nd then slowly push the gas pedal to the floor and back 2 or 3 times. I think that is what I did when I changed the throttle body on my 04 hemi.
I think the easiest thing to do would be to pull the spark plugs on that cylinder and see what they look like. As long as you have them out I would at least replace them or maybe just go ahead and replace all 16. Other things to check would be the coil and wires.
You are a brave soul to try a project like this outside and with time constraints. Maybe if I was 36 instead of 76 I would try it too. I wish you the best of luck. It seems like you are doing a good job. Keep us posted on the progress and outcome.
