Ok. I think I found the issue. This morning I took out the throttle valve actuator and noticed the pigtail that connects to it, doesn’t have a lock on it. So the last shop that just did transmission work to it either broke it or was already like that. But why put it back like that and not even...
So I cleaned this pigtail with electrical cleaner because there seems to be oil from my blow by tube. I added an extension so hopefully it doesn’t go on the plug again. Truck ran great coming to work this morning and ran fine going home.
At this point, I can only think of something electrical. When the truck runs great but as soon as the code comes on, its a whole different story. Has that hard shift from 2nd to 3rd and high rpm when shifting.
Here I am back again. Had my truck in the shop for 2 months (Nov/Dec 2022) now its april 2023. P1754 I’ve replaced everything I can think of. Spent over $7k on this issue past 5 years. At this point, just want to sell the truck.
Maybe need to find a new diesel shop. They always do good work but i guess they didn’t see this issue. I have a plug that was damaged and loose and full of gunk.
Edit: this code is P1750
Well, back at it again. Same code P1750. It’s a constant with this truck. Sent to diesel probably about 3x for this code since I’ve owned the truck (years)
Looks like a simple gasket leak. I know lots of diesels that leak because there’s a lot of pressure being built up. Wondering if you used full synthetic. I heard that oil runs through seals a lot faster than basic diesel oil. Have you checked the blow by?
I’m located in SoCal (Ontario) and looking to trade my aftermarket exhaust for your stock one. We can meet up at a local shop preferably on a sat/sun. Just pay for the swap and it’s yours.
Here’s a clip of it. Disregard the shakiness. My GoPro wasn’t mounted correctly.
I would recommend a Scanguage 2. Shows temps, reads codes and lots of other things. I have mine set on battery voltage, fuel pressure, intake air temp and water/coolant temp.
