I have an 81 with the computer on the air breather, I haven’t used my truck in a couple years so I wanna get back into it. I would like to ditch the computer and go back to a simpler hassle free ignition, what would be the best set up? What to do I have to order and the best place to order from?
well so far I’m not having luck finding a 72-80 rust free cab, all of the ones I’ve found have all had a floor like Swiss cheese and I’m not a body man and don’t have the ability to weld all new floor pans. Can the 72-80 dash and gauges be fit to the 81-87 cabs? I love the looks of the earlier...
im thinking of replacing my slant 6 with a 318, will the 318 bolt up to the transmission and will the motor mounts match up? I mentioned this to a friend he said none of the stuff will match up and probably would have to modify all my mounts
Other then that there’s still a major problem. If it runs great for 9 months then all this starts to happen there’s still something wrong. I don’t know where to go next
It is my daily driver, yes I’d like to convert it to a better ignition, when I bought it I had to redo my wiring and I also put on a remand ecm unit but the truck ran perfectly and would drive it 150km round trip to work every now and again
So I took it out again to see and it feels like I have a deadbolt spot around 50km where the truck feels like it just died but it’s still running what would cause it to feel like a dead spot?
I went and had a look see and what I saw was when the accelerator is pushed just a little I can see the fuel dribble down inside of the throat of the carb
ok, I thought I’d post this here instead of the engine forum. So last week my 81 d150 with the slant six and lean burn started to chug, well the truck was parked from Thursday till this Monday so I took it out and noticed that it was chugging along I took it on the hwy and it wouldn’t go over...
I don’t know much about the 4x4 in the older trucks, my 79 on the shift lever there’s the low,low lock and hi,hi lock why do they have that many functions? So the truck is full time four wheel drive?
Well I was mistaken, the truck I looked at wasn’t a Palomino it was a big horn edition. It was really rusted but the bumpers are good and the interior parts are still good so I bought it anyway
Looking for info on the Palomino truck. What years where they produced and was there anything special about them? Or was it just a fancy seat and trim. Anyone have one or pictures
