    Greasing truck

Exactly. I would add, it can be a bugger to find, particularly when dirty. Once found, mark the shaft with a bright colored grease pencil, nail polish, anything that will persist and not easily rub off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What DON'T you like about your RAM?

Nope, I don’t off road at all. My 3500 DRW tows a 14,000 pound 5th wheel; our home. We’re just over 100,000 miles now. Bought it used with 30,000 on it. Software updates... Nope, not as in recalls. I’ve been reading a lot of users who take their rigs dealers complaining about it. I haven’t had...

What DON'T you like about your RAM?

I don’t like the fact I had to change the ball joints at 80,000 miles. I don’t like that they charge so damn much to fix bugs in THEIR software. I don’t like the buggy TIPM that has to be reset instead of just replacing a headlight bulb. I don’t like the fact their 4wd system has electronic bugs...

    Title swap?

A bill of sale is never a bad idea. It’s also a good idea to get a phone number and current address, just in case something comes up. Make sure when you swap titles they are signed exactly the way they are made out. Ergo, if the printed name on the title is John R Doe, it must be signed John R...

Labor charge $115 to change fuel filters

I made the mistake of having the dealer in Pocatello ID change mine this last summer. $85 labor and the gorilla put the cap on so tight I had a hell of a time getting it off for the next change. Never again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

? about new tire choice...load index, service description, ply count

That’s correct. Don’t forget to add in fuel, stuff you carry in the bed, passengers, etc. Smartest way is to get it weighed on your way camping. Then you know. No guessing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

? about new tire choice...load index, service description, ply count

A little arithmetic will tell you how much you can tow with your choice of tires. It’s plainly marked on the side of each. As long as their combined capacity equals or exceeds your axle capacity, you should be good. No help here on off road. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

what had you done for winter?

I moved mine south, from Boise Idaho to Quartzsite Arizona. We love it here, in the winter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Service 4WD Light

This happens to my 2012 3500 RAM as well. The connector is on the back of the transfer case. I’ve unplugged mine, used electrical contact cleaner on both ends, connected and disconnected several times then added dielectric grease when putting it back together the final time. That seems to “fix”...

    goose neck half ton truck

Point taken. You pull your 16’ stock trailer with what? What are your weight ratings on truck and trailer? And loaded as heavy as you’ve ever loaded truck and trailer, what were your weights? Just because it’s handy, doesn’t make it safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    goose neck half ton truck

Yes, those pesky payload police, the ones who actually do the arithmetic necessary to ensure they are within their vehicle and trailer limits. Because God knows, no one is ever stupid or ignorant enough to exceed their AWR, GVWR or CVWR of their truck and trailer! Well, this payload cop towed a...

    goose neck half ton truck

Absolutely. But where you gonna find a goose neck trailer that is light enough for you to safely tow? Let alone with a load on it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tow 7 Pin Fuse

Wow! Never heard of electric brakes on a boat trailer before. And on a conventional trailer, the brake circuit is only hot when applying the brakes, the opposite of what you describe. Being in reverse or drive should make no difference. But, that circuit is typically protected with a circuit...

    Hitch for Protection?

I did that, left my hitch in, when I lived in Chicago. Figured it would protect my truck and possibly get me a free trailer should anyone rear end me hard enough. It worked once but no free trailer. After leaving it in for two years, it was a mother to remove! Think stout tree, 3/8 tempered...

    First time diesel owner

I own a 2012 Ram Laramie 3500 DRW with 80,000 on it. My wife and I live full time in the 5er. We pull about 12,000 miles a year. Plan on 3 gallons of oil every change and a new filter every time. If you do it yourself, plan on a 5 gallon or larger container and be prepared all that oil to...
