My truck just got inspected. It passed but he claimed one of the front wheel hubs is starting to get noisy and recommends changing soon (I can't hear anything except normal tire noise). Almost 120K on my 2018. I've replaced them before in my 3rd gen Ram. At this mileage I'll probably change...
I bought a replacement for this 3.6 but man, that thing is hard to access. I'm assuming I'll have to do it blind and by feel. Has anyone here replaced it? Any tips appreciated.
I notice that these 4th gen trucks have drain plugs for diff fluid which is convenient. On my 3rd gen I had to crack open the case.
I did like the idea of wiping the metal sludge of the magnet and giving the diff a cleaning, especially during the first break-in period. Am I overthinking...
I average 25k miles a year and will soon come up on 50K in my 2018 Ram 1500 ..3.6 4x4.
I realize these fluids don't need frequent changes but am determined to do the first one this
year before winter hits (will be about 60K then).
Been youtubing for info and there are some helpful videos...
