I get from Rock auto because if I spend $90 on a Delco or Mopar and it blows I'll be pretty pissed.
I have to know if there's an electrical problem causing this.
I guess it could be the sensors though but trying to find out. they have 1yr warranty so I keep getting them for free.
just hate...
did this solve the problem? my crank sensor keeps blowing and I'm getting tired of replacing it. I installed one a year and a half ago. then one in January this year, then again in March. again in May, now 2 weeks ago and it blew again today August 13.
its way too aggravating to keep doing...
the crank position sensor again. yes, blind job and cut fingers I can't wait. mine just blew AGAIN tonight thankfully as I was turning into the driveway. but not happy.
it's a good thing I can do this with my eyes closed. tip for others:
get a piece of plywood and put it across the front of...
I'm having real problems (other post) with crank sensors. I've replaced 3 this year and I think it has to do with incorrect voltage overloading the sensor. if you figure it out (or I) let me know what the cause is.
Try changing the crank position sensor again. yes, blind job and cit fingers...
no but maybe if the cam sensor goes the crank cps will follow but not the other way around. I don't know.
I decided to replace the pcv valve and see what that does but it hasn't arrived yet.
one odd thing happened is when I cleaned out the breather with brakleen and nudge torqued the...
I thought pcv valve on passenger side of 5.2l valve cover.what & how did you replace vacuum lines?
also I used liquid spray electrical tape" and it seals like good!
I can't believe it may be the crank position sensor again! what could be causing that sensor to go. what tools can you use to get to the 2 bolts on it?
from underneath you can see it but not reach it. from top you can reach but cannot see it.
I'd hate to buy a 90.00 or more sensor and have it...
5.2litre engine. I must have one of the last of the pre-obd-II ram 1500 2wds automatics.
I have the 46re transmission.
Related to another post I have, I keep getting a 22 code from the computer. I changed both temp senders on top of the engine block and ever since then I've got the code. I...
I decided to purchase a new map sensor. It just arrived today so I'm going to swap it out and see if that is going to improve anything on restarts.
if it's not the map I don't know what is involved with removing the throttle body. are there any diagrams of it clear enough to make out what I...
the engine starts almost normal and idles if cold. when it's hot/warm, I hear a hissing that goes away after minute or so while I am keeping the engine running with the gas pedal .
thanks for all that.
don't hear or see any leaks. clean IAC installed from another ram identical year. cleaned orifice where it resides.
fuel pressure seems OK. squirts pretty good out of Schrader valve.
doubt it's head gasket or plenum gasket since it d
will idle fine after I get it...
no scan tool. there is a code being thrown. I have an analog odometer so have to turn the key 3x then count flashes.
its throwing a "22" code, "temp sensor out of range", but the temp gauge now works and shows it operating at normal temperature.
I cleaned that out. it does start better when cold. takes about 2minutes to idle after a bunch of playing with the gas pedal to keep the rpms up. but when turn it off, it's harder to start gotta floor the the gas pedal then be careful not to Rev it too high.. eventually it starts, same deal
replaced the IAC with a clean one from another truck. still no change. difficult to start ( almost like it's lacking fuel or the air fuel mix is off)
anyway it's difficult to start then after a couple minutes it starts to idle fine and drives fine until I shut it off. then, same thing trying...
I will replace it. I got one from another truck and cleaned it up really well. should these have any lube or grease? it's clean but completely dry.
I'll swap these because I only cleaned the one that was in the truck.I suppose cleaningtthe socket where it resides is a good idea. brakleen or...
I used a cheep rank pos sensor from rock auto. I can get it started, but, it's hard to keep it running without giving it gas for a couple minutes, then it will finally idle and drives fine. but, when I turn it off, the "trouble starting" issue repeats itself.
ok I replaced the IAC but it does almost the same thing. I did not clean the throttle body yet. it is really hard to start. when it's cold it starts better than when it's hot. it will start but takes a lot of cranking/revving to keep it running . after about 5 or less minutes it will idle...
my 1996 ram 1500 overheated. I didn't have a temp sensor wouldn't you know and apparently I need one in case hoses spring a leak.
anyway, I replace both temperature sensors and the crank position sensor. It started up very laboriously with a lot of hissing and the first time it started then...
