If it's just the boom and not the bucket as well then I'd say you have a valve issue rather than a pump issue. Seems to me if it was the pump them it would affect both not just the boom
Be careful with your 1/2 ton when loading a trailer. Being able to pull it isn't the question. It's being able to stop it. I've found a 70's to mid/late 80's Chevy C30 with the old granny low 4 speed to be an excellent farm beater. Plenty of truck to pull and stop and you can buy parts for a 350...
I agree with BWL. I've spent my entire life on a farm and you can do a lot with a 1/2 ton. Get you a decent 40hp or so utility tractor with a loader and 4wd. If you plan on hauling livestock you can do it with a 1/2 ton truck. It'll just need to be a small trailer with a lighter load. No more...
The Tradesman is the work truck for Dodge. My 2500 is a Tradesman and it's plenty comfortable. Only thing I miss from my loaded Silverado is the CD player and seat heaters. If it was me I believe I'd look at a 4500 as well. It doesn't take much on a 40' trailer to get heavy
The three axles reminds me of the flat car at Home Depot with the big wheel in the middle that rocks back and forth. Maybe that's how they steer it! It's like driving a teeter totter:doublepuke::anitoof:
We grow chickens commercially and sell a lot of manure aka litter. It's amazing how heavy a load can be. Just a suggestion on your garden next time, if you plow your garden then lay off rows you can take a 5 gallon bucket about half full of litter and chop it up real fine with a shovel. Then you...
I set it on 5 then start down the road and when I reach 20 or so I put my foot on the pedal. If I feel the trailer pushing I go up on the gain. If I don't feel it I usually leave it. Haven't locked up yet. This is on a road with very little traffic
Haven't had either of them but can you use a small self tapping screw next to the attachment point in the spoiler? It's not technically "right" but I'm sure we've all done things like this
A word on brakes, if you're going to be towing on the same roads as my wife and kids, please have a working and properly set brake controller. They're to cheap and easy to have and use
I've been there. Was in a Ford 3/4 ton van full of music equipment and the band after playing the masquerade in Atlanta. It was about 230 or 3 am on the way home running about 80 and I was the only one sober and awake. If you want to see people get sober REAL quick that'll do it.
I agree with be careful how and what you load. Remember with a toy hauler the weight of the toy is on the back of the trailer with probably most if not all of it behind the axle. Just be sure you ballast correctly in front of the axle
I don't worry about it to much because there's not really enough back and forth movement or a sharp enough edge to cause any shearing action. I've not heard of any trouble with receiver pins other than taking them out and forgetting where you put them. It's a good idea to take it out every so...
Smells like money don't it ? We're negotiating on some land to build 6 mega houses on. Only job I've found where I can watch Tom and Jerry with my kids before going to work
Thanks everybody. We've been back from vacation a couple of days and the temps are a little better and so is the MPG so I'm guessing you guys are right about the compressor
