Hey all,
Did some searching and was unable to find a concise answer.
Is there any reason anyone would NOT want the LSD factory option other than the $500 price? Are there any downsides to having it on these trucks vs. the standard diff?
I can't think of a negative aspect of one, assuming...
As the title states, wondering if the front bench seat is adjustable at all. Love the bench seat in my 2018...but it would be awesome if it could move forward or backward slightly with, say, the driver seat.
TIA
So seems like a couple of guys like Nittos. Anything else for a comparable tire to stock? I don’t really take this thing off-road, maybe minimal use in secondary roads while fishing. Just normal mixed driving mostly
How many miles did you get or are you getting out of your factory Goodyear tires on 20” wheels?
I’m at 24k and they are pretty worn. The wear seems even. I’ve rotated the tires twice (once per oil change).
Is this normal? Is it from me driving it hard? I would expect more out of all-season...
cool, post pics of the tailpipe section when you can. my 24" magnaflow definitely drones with the load on the motor and the rpms in the typical hemi drone zone, but it's kind of nice to have some bass/sound if you want it. i would suspect you'll get some drone while towing...you could...
not saying this happens in your truck because A) i'm not super familiar with the platform yet and B) i don't know how your tune is set up
but
most factory vehicles with factory tunes will slightly raise the idle speed and/or other parameters while the compressor is engaged. you may be sensing...
Weird. Well if they are fibrous it’s likely fiberglass but not sure if the factory resonator (being a resonator) would have fiberglass in it. If it doesn’t I guess it would be from the muffler. Call Chris or Denny and ask if they’ve seen that before. Not sure how old the setup is but maybe it’s...
they sound a bit higher pitched and bark a bit more than our trucks. only exhaust i've heard that creates that kind of sound is the Corsa. if you have a single side exit exhaust you're currently SOL though unless you can find something used or online. they stopped making their single exit kit...
Also recommend Mufflex since they sell the muffler and exact amount of piping required, as a kit, to just clamp it in place of your factory muffler. To ensure you have no drone but make it a little louder, I would recommend the 24" muffler kit.
Yeah it was their 24” kit with a custom fabbed tailpipe. This way I can put the stock system back on when the truck goes.
Denny actually took me out in his 5-speed truck (2011?) that had the 18” setup with the factory dual exhaust. Didn’t drone at cruise but was a little louder than I wanted...
I actually used those same lights on a jon boat I built. They are made by Nilight and you can get them pretty cheap on Amazon. Awesome lights. I assume he cut rectangular holes for them in the bumper since they are made to mount flush. Since they have flanges, you can get away with a...
i have been using one of these (transferred from my previous vehicle): https://www.amazon.com/WizGear-Universal-Swift-Snap-Technology-Smartphones/dp/B00PGJWYJ0
I bought the extra large BarksBar one from Amazon. Functionally, it's great. Wish it was a little wider...maybe only a few inches. From front to back it's fine. It's also $40 which is decent.
Can still get hair on the side/headrests of the front seats so either find covers for those areas...
I ended up getting a mufflex setup and custom tailpipe at their shop. Just wasn't feeling the under-bumper look and didn't want to buy another bumper. I really like my setup. It's hidden and sounds great.
Finally made it down to Mufflex. Went with the 24" muffler based on a conversation with Denny, the owner. Loud under load, doesn't drone on the highway...I like it a lot. He made me a custom tailpipe that dumps at a level about even with the bumper and sprayed the last 12" of pipe flat black...
Cutouts before cats?
You might be able to get lucky by gutting cats or using resonators in place.
However I have a friend who was failed at one station for having an AFTERMARKET cat. Like they’re the f’ing mod police. So it may vary person to person, day to day, mood to mood. Good luck.
Positive. They even didn’t away with OBDI (sniffer applicable) and you just carry a letter from the DMV saying you’re exempt for anything built before 1996 (OBDII).
I’m new to this platform so I don’t know about the skid plate idea but I’m not new to questionably Earth-friendly vehicles.
