Yes, daily driver. About 11K miles and still look like new. No balancing or uneven wear issues. Balanced and rotated once and time to do it again soon. I think next time I will buy the AT version since I try to avoid mud but do need the best snow traction I can get. The muds seem to like to work...
You're just up the interstate from me – I bought my RAM there at Lithia Santa Fe last year. Looks like AEV has the black in stock for both the Kalta and Salta RAM wheels.
To add to what I said by PM, I would probably buy the Kalta wheels in black if I were buying now. They weren't available when I bought mine, and I really liked the Savegres I had on my Wrangler a few years ago. Thinking of buying a second set of five to swap out with Toyo ATs for the winter months.
If you buy a metric tire that measures out at or over 35” when mounted on a 2500 truck, that would be a 37” tire, and it’s fitment, power loss, and MPG hit will match what is reported for 37s.
That’s strange — my front was 34” exactly. Did you use something like a paint stir stick balanced across the top of the tire and then measure from that to the ground? Do you have more weight up front like an aftermarket bumper or dual alternators, dual batteries, etc.? Are yours the MTs? The...
You can also set it with the ProCal and take it to a dealer and have them follow the instructions in the ProCal manual. I made a copy and highlighted the relevant portion to help. They charged me one hour labor.
Awesome! Post up pics. Also – install the trim hole filler bolts yourself. The tire place may try to screw them in without using the thread-cleaning bolt in all the holes first, and they get jammed in half way. I had to painstakingly unscrew all mine with needle nose pliers and have AEV send me...
IIRC, the ProCal let me set one PSI for both front and rear and that's it – I think 50 and 30 were my choices for lowering it. I set it at 50 and have kept my PSI there with good results, but probably should have set it at 30, which would have let me air down off road to 25 without tripping the...
Thanks!
From the AEV page:
Offset +27mm
Backspacing 5.31"
Looks like the tread itself sticks out maybe a half inch from the plastic flares and about 2" at the widest point on the sidewall. It's enough that the front mud flaps help, but not enough to look monster-truck-ish ;)
My speedo is now correct, but strangely it feels like it doesn't quite have the same acceleration or as if the shift points were better before. Also noticed an occasional clunk from the transmission when it shifts around 40 mph when I let off the gas right beforehand. I'm going to turn off my...
TPMS settings updated by visiting dealer. I had a copy of the page from the ProCal manual with the appropriate instructions highlighted, which really helped. ProCal is done.
Next up, figuring out where/how to mount the full size spare. I was going to go with the Wilco tailgate mount, but I...
I've been really impressed with 35s on aftermarket wheels:
no noticeable performance hit
no meaningful mpg reduction
no rub at full lock
no rub under articulation when sway bar is disconnected
I was going to go with 37" STT Pros in the 12.5 width, but they showed up in 13.5. They are HUGE...
I always thought ECO mode on an FCA product was simply telling you when you are driving economically. Is it seriously some sort of “mode” that happens to kick in when you drive it a certain way and/or during times when it can? That might explain the irritating and seemingly random lugging the...
Could be a bad connector plug (disconnected and reconnected causing the fault just as if you'd installed it with the power on or a key nearby). Might need to exchange it for a new one.
Got the bypass wiring installed and set the tire size this morning. Toyo MT 35x12.5 measured out exactly 34" in front. Speedometer is now accurate to within about 1/2 MPH, verified by GPS app on my phone.
I had to use the photo in the instructions of where the wires plug into the back of the...
