6.4 swap in a 1500, has anyone done it?

Anyway to take this cap off?
So I have sensitive eyes and no I'm not going to get the script so I can tint my windows, I already have all my windows and full windshield tinted and I wear sunglasses till late into dusk. I don't wanna wrap or plasti dip it and I don't want to buy a full replacement for $80. Has anyone fixed... -

Factory Step Bars Flake?
I have a 2012 1500 and which I believe to be stock side steps, because I've seen them on other trucks as well. Well they are flaking really bad, and just looks terrible. Plus I hate chrome. Has anyone had this sort of issue? I've had trucks stock with and without them, I've had major lifted...
