    I have 223,000 on my 2007 and she is still purring along but it is a machine and they do wear out. I'd like to do some refresh on her in the next year or two. As far as overheating...I don't know that any engine does well with that.

    My 2007 4.7 didn't like the NTK 02s when I replaced with those but when I switched to Denso 02s, all those codes went away. What 02s did you put in?

    4.7L 2008 Cat questions

    I have an 07 4.7 2WD and replaced my cats/y pipe in 2018 with an Easter Catalytic set from Rockauto. Had to jack up the front end a bit but it all finagled into place. I put in NTK O2 sensors at that time but my truck didn't like them. Changed to Desno a year later.

    I finally quit buying the Goodyear SRAs (3 sets over the years) and went with Coopers a couple of weeks ago....what a difference. Those SRAs felt like concrete shoes compared to the Coopers.

    Transmission Fluid / Service

    FWIW, I just did the 4th tranny fluid and filters replacement on my 2007 545RFE that has 220,000 miles on her now. 8 qts came out, 8 back in. Sounds like much less tedious procedure than what most of y'all have to do.

    What did you do to your Gen3 today?

    Flushed out an re-filed the coolant, replaced the block to heater core lines, thermostat and t-stat housing. Ol girl is running...."a needle width" cooler than I've ever seen on her. This pic is after an hour on I-75 South.

    Changed trans fluid- and a cautionary tale

    I had the same thing happen when I changed the fluid on my 07 a few years back, 1 bolt broke off on me, I said "WTF", but enough was exposed to back out with vice grips. Friggin wierd....

    alignment bolts rusted tight to sleeves

    I can recommend the 9" Diablo Extreme sawzall blade (sold at Home Depot)....and a little cutting oil/chainsaw bar oil for this job. Let the blade do the work and it'll take about 10 minutes a side.
