I get it. My '09 with 162K miles on it purrs like a kitten on the Redline 5w30 at idle, and roars like a lion when on the gas...not changing a thing! And I hope that Redline doesn't change a thing either regarding their formula on the Hemi Honey. It's expensive, but for a once a year oil...
Same here, I have a can of Jasco gel that is about a year old that I have used in the past with pretty good results. I have a Wix 57055XP filter that I plan on installing in my 545rfe trans., and will try out the Jasco as a paint stripper on the Wix filter.
Regarding the Jasco, I have read that before they changed the formula a few years back, it was actually a much better/more aggressive stripper than the current edition. I believe that they changed the formula for safety/environmental issues?
I have been using Amsoil Saber along with recreational gas mixed 50:1 in my 2 strokes (weed whip, hedge trimmer, back pack blowers (2) and chain saw) for years with excellent results.
I bought a new Suzuki Hayabusa back in 2003. Added a K&N air filter, Yoshimura 4 into 1 pipes, went +3 on the rear sprocket, and custom tuned with a Power Commander. Wow what a rush! Really glad that I survived that part of my life! Last bike that I had was a 2016 Harley Davidson Low Rider...
Thanks to you and Corey for the explanation of the quality difference of the OEM Mopar 5013470AE sump filter. I just ordered one from Amazon, the best price that I could find at $42 ($44.52 w/tax) shipped. Expensive for sure, but buying quality usually is.
I have some Jasco semi-paste like Hemimann used on hand, and plan on doing a Wix 57055XP filter to install in my 545rfe later this year. Right now it still has the stock type spin on filter in there. Also, is OEM the best choice for the sump filter?
Rick, I have a Diablo T1000 tuner for my 2009. So when you say "up the idle rpm to 750", does that mean 750 rpm in park/neutral or in gear? Fully warmed up? Thanks, Steve.
Amazon has Redline 5w30 for $81.99 for 6 quarts...works out to about $13.66/qt. I just ordered 6 qts. to go along with the 1 1/2 qts. that I had left over from the last oil change. This Hemi Honey along with my stash of RP 20-820 oil filters will give me what I need for my annual Hemi oil...
Actually, I was looking for this thread to respond to, but couldn't find it. I posted on my original post in the Engine & Performance topics about my truck "Transmission Stuck in 4th gear", read it when you get a chance. I did the repairs on Saturday.
Really wasn't too bad. The TRS plug was a bit of a struggle to remove from the solenoid pack, mainly because it's hard to get to because the shift linkage and front driveshaft are right in the way. I watched a couple of youtubes on doing the job, and learned from their mistakes. I ordered the...
Update: The weather has been unusually mild here, so I ordered a new Mopar shift solenoid kit that included the two transmission filters and a pan gasket. Got the truck out and did the job yesterday. Took quite a nice drive in it today, and everything seems fine. I think that the shift...
