    Mirror video reroute RA2 problem

I won’t tell you how much it cost me. Took a bath on that upgrade.

    Mirror video reroute RA2 problem

Yes. The dealer did it. Said it was bent pin within the infotainment harness by the passengers vent block.

    Installing OEM backup cam

R.L.K - I am negotiating with the dealer I bought the truck from now (as of yesterday) sent them the same invoice I showed Mike. Asking for compensation, not entire refund, but FAIR compensation. I really don't know if they are considering it as I have not heard back from them. And I hate to be...

    Installing OEM backup cam

Look, I have nothing against infotainment. But they only offered me 50$ towards this fix, not a full refund. And if I went with the Mpgrimm2 direct harness, I could have avoided all this and spent 40$ instead of 400$ and Would have eliminated certain portions of the wire chasing and reduced...

    Installing OEM backup cam

Honestly, there are 3 different versions of what went wrong. (1) The infotainment harness had swapped pins and not seated correctly, (2) Bent pin at the t-harness connector from new mirror harness, and (3) the original story of the BT splice being bad and not sitting in the multipin connector...

    Installing OEM backup cam

Just easier to place work order on here in order to explain what the problem was. Hopefully this will make sense to MPGrimm2 and R.L.K. I am still not understanding myself, just whining to the place I bought the truck from for some sort of compensation.

    Installing OEM backup cam

Here is the update; So my truck is fixed. They changed the BCM and that was not the problem. They found the problem in the wiring at one of the pin blocks behind the radio where the pins were not seated correctly. I am now trying to find out if the initial splice (scab in) of the original RA1...

Honestly, after this fiasco, not sure I want to touch anything again. But I get the point.

    Installing OEM backup cam

They will put extra codes in. Told me to make a list of what I want. I have no clue what to ask for R.L.K. They said infotainment harness is crap and they are not sure it was meant for RA2. They did call infotainment and they did not offer a lot of information. So we are waiting on new bcm to...

    Installing OEM backup cam

I will ask if they can throw in extra codes for future mods. Thanks Mpgrimm2 for researching the recall. Hopefully I get truck back today, if not they are going to get me loaner car

    Installing OEM backup cam

Anybody heard of a recall on these bcm snack in 2013? Apparently mine didn’t get fixed, at least not from the dealers point of view, they can’t find evidence it was fixed due to no codes being present

So they are keeping the truck overnight. Tentatively saying it’s a corrupt bcm as there are no codes in the bcm that they can find. So with any luck, warranty issue.

They are checking to see if sales code for video mirror is different than radio? Then they are going to call Chrysler?

    Installing OEM backup cam

Sitting at another dealership. They just told me 3 hours to diagnose and chase wiring. They codes at it and still nothing. So here we go tearing no I apart again. Wonder how much this is going to cost me? Geez, it rains, it pours.

    Installing OEM backup cam

Are you sure that shield does nothing ? Then maybe I am missing the ground wire? Only 2 wires (yellow and black) go to multipin connector in back of radio. One sends, the other returns. But no gnd?

Any new clues as to why the radio won’t let the signal in? Still going with configuration?

    Installing OEM backup cam

Well, now I am not sure if I have correct diagram. This mentions nothing about backup cam, cargo cam, or even the video mirror (which is what I started with).

    Installing OEM backup cam

This would have been so much simpler with mpgrimm2 jumper to the original oem connect block at back of radio. This harness is so hard to trace. I can’t tell if half the pins are seated correctly. What a pain.

    Installing OEM backup cam

Okay so the rca cable spliced in the info harness takes the place of those grey wires (your pictures) at the radio connect block, correct? And I have video signal at the pass vent connector block (I proved it). So the radio is just not recognizing the signal for some reason.... migraine... omg

    Installing OEM backup cam

So, studying wiring diagrams. Noticed there’s an option for DVD player. Going to the video spots On the multipin block going to the radio. So any chance there could be a fuse missing as video was going to mirror before I changed it. Just spit balling. The video inputs are like pins 20, 21, 22 on...

    Installing OEM backup cam

Dealership bragged on the phone they deal with these issues all the time and they were best in the area at fixing them. The only thing that scares me is the cost, if they do have to chase wires. I have extended warranty (bought truck two months ago) so if it’s a wiring issue other than...

    Installing OEM backup cam

I will give it a shot, but yes, only 2 wires to the 31 and 32 pin. 33 has nothing. Due to the wrapping tape, I can trace the wire from the firewall to the radio. But the meter says there’s a connecting on the rca cable on both the inner prong and outer ring of rca plug (continuity). I tried to...
