Tuner for 2015 and other bolt ons
Thanks, Ya I was kind of adding it up and it's likely more than I'll be looking to spend. Sure enough sounds like I have a broken manifold/bolt. Just started ticking when it's cold then goes away. Will headers help solve the manifold issue? Longtubes the way to go I assume, and how hard to fit...- Farmer888

Just upgraded from a 2003 ram 5.7 to a 2015 with 8 speed. Probably not in the budget for a bit, but thought about a tuner and maybe some of the typical bolt ons for a bit of extra kick. Just hit 375k miles...
Wow that's amazing. Im at 255,000 miles on a 03 hemi. I also do daily italian tune ups! and the engine just keeps going. problem here is rust, I keep it well oil sprayed but eventually the rust still wins.- Farmer888

replacing shocks
shocks have been on this truck for the 70,000 miles i've had it and who knows how long before that.. I'm thinking new shocks are due. Anyone have recommendations? Rancho 5000 or 9000? Or I found Monroe load adjusting shocks with spring coil overs.. Would these actually help much to stiffen up... -

2003 trans swap
So haven't had any replies on my previous post about having trans issues.. Just wondering if I do swap to a used transmission, What years 545rfe will work in my 2003? is there different wiring on the newer ones? Should I just look for a 03 trans? Thanks- Farmer888

545rfe acting up
2003 ram 1500 5.7 qc 4x4 So yesterday my truck was jerking a bit when it was downshifting into passing gear, I was going around 50-55 mph. The later it didn't shift above 3rd gear. I was running 55 mph and I was turning around 24-2500 rpm on 17 inch wheels and 3.92 gears. usually runs around...- Farmer888

03 rockers repair
I know doing the full rocker would be the best and proper way. But realistically If I can get 3 more years out of this truck I'd be pretty happy. I'm still kind of just wanting to do the outer skins/ slip on style to keep it decent for a few more years yet. We'll see -

Just bought a cordless impact!
I want to get either a 3/8 m18 or maybe the m12 fuel stubby next for tighter areas. The high torque 1/2 is a beast from the small amount I've used it so far but too big to get in a lot of areas on vehicles. And probably get a 4 1/2" fuel grinder too but can only spend so much at once lol -

Painting rear bumper with rubber rockerguard
Have some rust and scuffed up paint on my rear bumper. Was thinking about sanding it down and just using rubberized rocker guard on it. I use the truck as a truck not that I beat the crap out of it but sometimes bumpers get hit etc etc. Wondering if anyone else has done this and how'd it turn... -

Looking at an '04 1500 RCSB 4x4
I've been around a few that the window controls dont work on back windows except when controlled from the drivers door. Never fixed it but must be some sort of electrical issues ina wiring harness somewhere. I Just did spark plugs on my 03 hemi. They were way overdue, I'd recommend changing...- Farmer888

Wires looked ok but a couple coils are looking rusty, Runs good though. I like that Hydro boost brake mod! Does it make the brakes noticeably stronger? I did check the gap on the new plugs and they were all good.- Farmer888

Did spark plugs last night. 03 5.7
No didn't drop them in, used the plug wrench to lower them in and hand tighten. Yeah Next time I'll change them earlier haha. The plugs that were in there were champion 3570 which appear to be platinum, I used champion copper core like factory. Truck definitely feels smoother but to be honest...- Farmer888

Asked about doing spark plugs on here a long time ago but never got around to it, I know they're supposed to be done every 30,000 miles/ 48,000 kms or close to that.. have Had the truck for 82,000 kms and who knows how long the plugs were in there before. Wow nice low mile rigs guys. 3rd gens are my favorite by far, I do like 4th gens too but not as much. Im at 350,000 kms/ 220,000 miles. Hope to keep her going for a long while yet.- Farmer888
