    When I bought my truck new they didn't put the metal plate against the tailgate originally, I brought it in as the "Ball joint" shifted and my tailgate assist then fell apart and wouldn't stay. I wish they put the supporting plate on in the first place but live and learn.

    All depending on your area essentially. If you use satellite radio there is no difference at all. But if you live in a area where signal is weak to begin with you might experience some lost or weaker channels.
