That worked for one side of mine. The other side wouldn't budge. I ended up coming to the conclusion that I would have to cut it off so I started the process. I was pretty close to cutting the bell housing off, because I was going really slow, and thought I would whack it a few more times with...
I used a torch and heated up where the cv axle connects to the differential. I cut the metal band so i could remove 80% of the cv axle and just deal with the inner bell housing. I keep spinning it to get a good heat around it. Then used a hammer and hit it several time in an outward direction. I...
I do that. My problem was getting thr caliper off from the rotors and pads. These little bumps on the back of the pads would damage the piston when I pryed off the caliper with a pry bar.

I have a 2011 Ram 1500 and it won't come on until the recommended interval, which is 7500 miles between changes. The message appears on the information screen in the dash. You will need to Google how to reset the notification cause it is funky.

Digging up an old thread but thank you. I bought a slide hammer with the big socket end that is supposed to make it easy to get off but so far no luck. May have to start cutting.

I wonder if anyone else has the happen to them but everytime I change my brakes and remove the caliper, the brake pads tears the crap our of my caliper piston. It has to do with two little bumps on the back of the pads and rip through the piston. I am sure I am doing something wrong since all I...
Same with me. I had to change mine in 2011 Ram 1500 and I just pulled the housing off and let the fluid pour out. I didnt lose that much, unless you just dont want to make a mess.

Holy crap. I like it a lot. Since truck is red it would be nice to paint it red instead of your silver. What paint you use? I just had to replace my windshield washer sprayers and pulled down the heat fabric and spray painted it black because it looked old and dirty.

I just replaced my pan with a Dorman 265-870. I have a 2011 Ram 1500 4x4 so I needed that one. It also has a drain plug in it and it fit perfect. I used a gasket and a little rtv to seal it.
I bought it on Ebay for $45

I just changed rotors and pads and at least one of the shields was rusted to hell and had rust holes in it. The wheel bearing has to come off to replace this if I remember. I might as well replace the bearing since it is off.

You know the sound you hear echoing back at you as you drive down the road close to a guard-rail or a hill? Most times you cannot hear it yourself since you are inside of the truck but every so often you get the echo how what your truck sounds like. This is what I am hearing and I don't like it...
I am interested in this as well. I have an '11 1500 and thought about buying one of those cheap HUD displays to reflect it off my front windshield.

It happened to me and was blank first days. Only the backlights would give on, no display info. Never figured out what was wrong, it just started working a week later and stayed working. I have 2011 1500 SLT Big Horn
