Bought truck new with 8 miles. I religiously change oil every 5k with M1 5w-20 and M1 filter. Don't have a catch can maybe that is in the future. I still have 30k miles on powertrain warranty might just bring it in.

I soaked them in some water and saw no bubbles checked each bolt and they were all tight (did not torque). Also used the stethoscope and could hear the tick in the block before engine warned up.

Sadly I regret to inform that the last two days my tick is back with a little bit of cold start piston slap. This afternoon I took the wheels off and examined the manifolds and everything looks great no leaks. Once the engine runs for a min or two and warms up it hums like a bird.....that being...
The sound you are hearing at that time of the video is the natural sound of the lifters. Sounds kinda like a sowing machine.

I got the "hemi tick" on my 2017 Ram 1500 with 32k miles (bought the truck new off the lot). Been changing my oil every 5k miles religiously with M1 full synthetic and M1 oil filter. After adding Lubegard i noticed that the tick went away after about 500 miles of driving the truck. I even bought...
So I bought a automotive stethoscope to diagnose the hemi tick and the thing is amazing. How did I not buy one sooner! After running 500 miles on the lube guard introduced to me by @Burla and the Mobil 1 it looks like my tick is completely gone as of now.

I read that i can buy a stethoscope and put it on the block and hear the tick. If i don't hear the tick while using the stethoscope then i know it is a manifold leak.
The sounds is most noticeable after you start the engine cold and the RPM's come down after a minute or 2 at idle. At operating temperature i can barely hear it but it is still there.
Thank i will give the lubegard a shot. I just bought the 15oz on amazon. I will let everyone know if it helps. I just need it to hold me over until my next oil change.
I was really hoping that is was not the Hemi Tick!!!! Now i wish it was an exhaust leak! Worst part is i just did a fresh oil change yesterday.... Is running the Redline 0w-30 better then running Redline 5w-20? I would think that Ram wants your to run 5w-20 for a reason.
I bought the truck brand new and have always used Mobil 1 5W-20 and Mobil 1 oil filter changed every 5k miles. I switched to Redline 5W-30 but then went right back to Mobil 1 as i got really bad piston slap during the winter months here in NY.
Hello all,
I think my 2017 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi is having engine knock but wanted to get everyones opinion. Truck has 32k miles on it. I thought at first it was a manifold leak as I know these trucks are prone to snapping bolts, but now that I crawled under the truck I don't think that is the...
If you want your truck to be close to level as possible go with the 2.1 height. That is what I dod with my truck and it came out amazing.

I have the outlaw muffler on my truck while everything else is stock. Gives it a nice deep aggressive growl with no rasp. My dad has the thunder muffler on his Ram by flow master, it is also good but noticeably quieter then mine.

What is the shelf life of oil? I can get 12 qts of redline 5w20 on amazon right now for $9.83 per Qt. I would only use 7 of the 12 qts for this oil change and save the rest for the next change in another 6k miles. My question is; will the oil sitting in the garage until the next change still be...
