    I run Pennzoil full synthetic in my Hemi, and the only Pennzoil 5W-20 full synthetic the store had says "redesigned for modern turbocharged engines." I'm sure it's not a big deal, but will whatever new additives this oil has hurt my non-turbocharged engine?

    I’ve seen a lot of people on this forum say they run 5W30 in their Hemi instead of the recommended 5W20. What’s the rationale behind this? In my opinion it doesn’t make sense to deviate from what engineers recommend. Maybe I’m just missing something?

    I think 89 is the better choice if towing/hauling heavy. But for everything else, I don’t see a reason to run it. The price difference between the two would add up quickly, and I personally couldn’t justify it if it wasn’t necessary.

    I check my temps constantly, and the fluctuation I see on my 8 speed temp sometimes makes me nervous. I’d say it typically stays around 176, but it’ll sometimes climb to 180-181. On long highway trips it’ll stay around 168.

    What's the general consensus on changing the 8 speed transmission fluid? Should you attempt to change it or just trust that the fluid lasts a really long time? I don't know how sold I am on the idea of it being "lifetime fluid."

    Just out of curiosity, why did you go with a 2500? And is it a 6.4 or 6.7? Good info on the V6. I bet it is the 8 speed that makes all the difference. I personally don’t think I’d ever go with a V6 just because I’m a V8 guy, but it’s good to know that it’s a capable truck.

    After looking back at the bottle, I put about 6.7 liters/7.07 quarts. And that includes filling the oil filter prior to putting it on. I guess I was under the impression that the capacity was 7 liters plus however much it takes to fill the filter.
